October 28, 20213 yr The allocated drops today at my local place were Bookers and Little Book (I don’t care for Beam stuff) and Woodford Masters ($119 for 90 proof with *some* 17 year stuff blended in)….oh well. I think the bots had the online links sold out in 6.3 seconds anyway.

November 1, 20213 yr I have a little book 5 in the cellar. Had a pour of 6 at dinner this weekend and it was good if a tad hot i got these today. Love smoke wagon. 291 is new but getting alot of praise
November 4, 20213 yr Author Smoke Wagon finally making it out your way? Haven't heard of 291. Will have to make inquiries with the reps see if it might be making its way to NJ in the future.

November 7, 20213 yr the 291 barrel proof bourbon is complex and a bit different. reminds me more of texas whiskey than bourbon. the aspen staves it's finished with come through, but not in a piney way. definitely get the charred wood flavor. too hot to drink neat but over some ice, its enjoyable. really not sweet at all
November 7, 20213 yr Saw a bottle of EC Toasted Barrel next to a bottle of ECBP for the same price. I haven’t had the Toasted Barrel and am interested but would never pay the same price as a bottle of BP
November 9, 20213 yr It was an A. Haven’t seen the C yet. I finished a B over the summer, really enjoyed it.
November 13, 20213 yr Author We got some Weller in this week. 10 bottles of Full Proof, 8 bottles of 12 Year, 6 bottles of CYPB Wheated and 4 bottles of Wheated Single Barrel. Our other store took all but 1 bottle of each they left us. So nice of them to let us have any at all.

The main owner whose daddy set up the business for him, has to be the coolest guy at the HS lunch table. Their store is in the more affluent area of the county in a better location while the store I'm at is a more blue collar area and what I like to call "The Where's Waldo Location". Funny that there's 2 stores close to our 2 stores that are going to be up for sale in 2022 (No stores are being sold now because current owners want 2020 numbers, which is an outlier, so any smart buyers want 2021 numbers for comparison. In NJ, owning a liquor store is like owning an NFL franchise, you're going to make $$$, just depends how you run your business determines how much money you're going to make. You can be the NYJ or the Pats.) and I know former employers or other entities who want to invest in a secure business. Helps when you know the ins/outs of your competitor and how to dissect them.
November 13, 20213 yr I know what they go for on secondary, it is that bad? buying those shops seems like a no brainer. Holler at me if you want capital investors to go after them. I know plenty.
November 16, 20213 yr OF single barrel today. then found out i got right to buy an OKI pick. that's a good day.
November 18, 20213 yr Author Had the rep from Old Forester stop by today. This was the lineup. Tasted all of them and the last 2 back row right were amazing. They were all very good. Proofs were well hidden and loads of rich dense flavours. He also had an unmarked test tube sample of Colonel Taylor Warehouse C I got to taste. Damn. That's going for $3K on the secondary market. Nice getting to work with a good Bourbon Buzz on.
