Since I moved to TN I've got more into whiskey and bourbon being so close to bourbon country.  I have tried a lot of different bourbons which is my favorite type.  I have tried different types of scotch and couldn't get into it.  Glenlivet was ok.  I just prefer bourbon and some whiskeys.  For my 40th birthday me and some friends did the Jack Daniels tour, then went up to the Kentucky Bourbon trail and did some bourbon distillery tours.  Learned about the process and how to taste and enjoy.

There's a good documentary on Hulu called "Neat: the Story of Bourbon."

I’m drinking Belle Meade cask strength reserve right now. One of the owners is a buddy from college

😂  I missed the other post.

Another one down.

21 year old Classic of Islay. One of those, somebody got a hold of a barrel for blending and then bottled it. No distiller named but they say "Sea Exposed Casks" which is what Caol Ila does.

At any rate, it was an excellent smoky whiskey. A friend stopped by and we killed the bottle while talking from opposite sides of the back porch, about 15' apart.

That's as exciting as things get. Having a nurse drop by on his way home from work once every couple of weeks for a scotch.

Just came in off the truck.  New Buffalo Trace offerings all in 6pk cases.  Got 4cs each of the Rye and Wheated and only 1cs of the Straight Rye.

How smoky/peaty was it?

Lovely peat. Even a little grassy. Not a huge peat bomb but its front and center. Perfect neat imho

Little wild turkey rare breed tonight. Bought this bottle yesterday for the first time and it's pretty amazing. The mouth feel is unlike any other whiskey I've had, even other barrel proofs
