Right to the scare tactics. I didn’t know a private organization had anything to do with a constitutional amendment.

I have no idea what that's about but why continue to throw fire on an already volatile political climate?  The case (if it happens) will likely take years

The NRA and the hard right will use this as ammunition to the fullest extent of their power.  Announcing something like this, less than 4 months before the election, seems like an attempt of the liberal left to double/triple down on the idea that "The election is already won and we are not worried about political backlash".  (2016 round 2).

Sometimes I wonder if the far liberal left "thinks" before they act, tbh.  (And before anyone says that they are doing "the right thing" in their opinion, regardless of politics...that does not hold water in 2020 when nearly everything has been politicized).  Announcing something like this will be viewed as an attack on the right and an attack on the 2nd amendment, regardless of intent, imo.

The NRA is the PETA of gun organizations.  But giving Trump this ammo seems like a silly move, regardless of how legit the charges may be.

this would be something to announce the day after the election.

You guys realize they've been investigating for 18 months, right?  They already have a mountain of evidence.  In other words, this isn't a witch hunt.

I'm not arguing it is.  And I don't even think pushing for accountability in a group with so much political sway is a "fringe left" thing.  I just think it's bad timing on the announcement tosses numbnuts a life line.  It's been 18 months, you can wait a few more.

I guess.  AG of NY is an elected position though.  I wouldn't be surprised if Letitia James has political goals of her own.

It's not a witch hunt. But politically this gives the right the ability to dust off that gun rights wedge and make an issue of something other than COVID-19 and the economy.

It may prove to be less helpful than it may appear, as the shine on the NRA has worn off for many given their obvious corruption.

We'll see.

If this somehow costs the Dems nationally, especially Biden, her political career is dead. Even if this isn't the cause, if Biden loses, she will have hell to pay.

Do you think NRA members really want to pay for La Pierre’s family to vacation in the Bahamas on his yacht or fund his safaris in Africa?  It should be interesting.
