Verse has been good and has nice stats, but Mitchell has pretty much shut down every wide receiver he’s faced and is already a top 5 corner in the league. Eagles probably got the best two corners in the draft. I mean teams would rather throw at Slay than any of these young guys.
November 15, 20241 yr He´s not just lining up against scrubs, either. He´s covering WR1 every week and giving them nothing. I don´t think I have ever seen a rookie CB play this well

He’s playing like a veteran in terms of how he’s handling things and even the way he’s smartly playing in a way to get away with certain things without crossing the line.

After last night Mitchell’s rookie of the year odds dropped from 18-1 to 4-1! I think he will probably need to get a couple of interceptions to beat Verse (which will be hard as QBs just avoid him now). But he is finally getting proper recognition

November 15, 20241 yr I love his confidence too. In training camp he went at it with AJ Brown, who loved it. AJ said he enjoyed preparing him for what to expect from the NFL's top receivers.
November 15, 20241 yr Im waiting for a certain someone to come in here and tell us that he is no good

November 15, 20241 yr The McLaurin catch was given up by Slay and not Q. Not to disparage Slay. 10 yards from the 3rd ranked receiver in yards is a good night.

Puka plays mostly RWR so we should see a lot of that matchup unless they try and move him to Slay’s side and sacrifice Robinson to Mitchell.

November 16, 20241 yr My favorite part is that Mitchell is just quietly going about his business. He's not making headlines and spouting off. He's just doing his job and letting his work on the field speak for itself. It's refreshing.
November 16, 20241 yr Instead of TALKING about his play- he just goes out and lets his PLAYING do ALL the talking. Love this guy. Love his game. We finally have a corner.

Do you think it's a coincidence that since inserting DeJean into the defense, it's all come together? Add in Blankenship, Ringo and Rogers with Slay and CJGJ.....that is one hell of a secondary. And the best thing is, Maddox and Bradberry are buried deep in the bowels of the Linc.

November 16, 20241 yr I recall in another location someone was knocking him saying he doesn’t catch Interceptions. Well I don’t care if he can’t catch the ball, because neither can the guy he’s covering. 😂
