1-13 on third down

8 punts

Thats not gonna cut it in most games against better teams.

QB1

But 3/3 on 4th downs mitigates that. Both o-lines were over matched in pass protection. It was a good win and much needed. Let’s enjoy it.

Y'all wanted more running than passing, we'll it sometimes looks like that. We were also 4-4 on 4th downs, so 5-18. When you think about it, 13 3rd downs isn't that much, we did most of the damage on 1st and 2nd downs.

I agree that it wasn't a perfect performance and the team needs better stats if they want to compete against better opposition. But just for the sake of fairness, 3 of those punts came in the last quarter without the starters playing; and, as ManchesterEagle pointed out, 3 of those failed third downs ended up being converted on fourth down.

People were mad when Nick was going for it on 4th and it failed

When it works then people are fine with the risky plays and don't care

Yep - people love a risk taker. Unless the risky decision doesn’t work….

Even though the Giants are a bad team, they do have a strong DL

risk taking is fine - being reckless is not.  I define reckless as taking a risk where the upside is significantly outweighed by the downside

They had a strong DL. Barkley put half of their CBs into a hospital on his own. The way he hit one CB and the dude flew back 3-4 yards from the hit..was epic. Old School.

Barkley's new Nickname after the giants game...is the "Punisher". I just hope that he does not get injured, because it is a beautiful thing to watch him play. Thank You Barkley for a breath of fresh air.

We all know Hurts is a problem. But this is how they should be. Run first, pass second. Can’t trust Hurts to make the right read, not get sacked, or turn it over. So running it more hopefully opens up the pass and hope that he can do just enough to win.

To me it’s much more acceptable to risk a 4th down when you are leading and not trying to catch up.

Still zero points in the 1st quarter

Sadly, I feel the same way.  When we get into obvious passing downs, I'm always on edge because I just don't trust him to make a play without a sack/fumble/pick.

Totally forgot that they had Burns until he was smacking Hurts around.

He has made clutch plays two weeks in a row though without a fumble or a pick.... yayyyy

Isn't that "Mr Go For it instead of taking the FGs" fault?

well that's lame 😆 his nickname is Saquon Barkley

Some of you are just never content and you're always looking for something to gripe about. What's the perfect game? Score on every possession and the opponent goes 3 and out all day? then you'd complain that there weren't enough sacks, INT's, forced fumbles, blocked FG's, etc.

Nah. I'm gonna enjoy this 28-3 win.

Have a great rest of your week.

It’s kind of like saying… Oh Barkley’s average without the long runs wouldn’t have been very good. Yeah but the long runs happened and are a huge part of the game.

If a team rushes for over 200 yards then chances are the pass yards will be down. Sure the 1/13 on third down isn’t good. No points in the first quarter isn’t good. But this team effectively scored 28 points (well very nearly) in 2 quarters and then pulled their starters.

How quickly everybody forgets that 4 of those 3rd downs we didn't convert came with Pickett, Shipley, and the backup O-line in the game. It would have been only 3, but Mann got trucked on a punt attempt giving us a bonus series to milk the clock.

We just won on the road against a divisional rival by 25 points, haven´t turned the ball over in two weeks, defense hasn´t given up a TD in two weeks. I did wonder what we´d find to moan about this week. Well done, OP.

I don't know whether it's age, finally winning a Super Bowl....or just this team/leadership in general but where as I used to live and die on every play, not so much any more.  Fact is that this is NOT a Super Bowl contender.  Their QB/Head Coach have flaws that combined will ultimately put the ceiling for this team at playoffs, the floor at god knows where.  That being said, enjoy the f'ing win.  Stats can be manipulated to win any argument.  They won, against a division opponent, that led the NFL in sacks, on the road, on that horrible field 28-3.  They are a half game out of first.  No team in the NFC is better than 5-1.  I mean is there truly a team (other than Detroit) that you would really be scared about playing in the playoffs?  At this rate, San Francisco might not even get to the playoffs!  Guess I'm saying, enjoy the win, enjoy the season, let's see what happens but at the end of the day, we got 2017 and I've been a fan since '80, I for the life of me never thought I would see a Super Bowl victory.  And PS....I was at the last game at the Vet, vs. Tampa in the NFCCG, THAT GAME, was enough to scar someone for a lifetime!
