Can confirm. The front of my house has a covered porch, down some stairs, and a short walk down the sidewalk to the street. Amazon will make sure the package is on the porch under cover. UPS leaves it on the stairs, out in the elements, rain or sun. FedEx will throw it in the yard somewhere. USPS will try to cram it in the mailbox on the street.

sounds about right.

Amazon always puts it where I requested and sends me a picture.

UPS typically is decent, but it's variable. at least they bag boxes if rain is threatening.

I don't use FedEx much honestly, so I can't say I can comment there.

tracking with USPS is largely useless. I'll get a notification that my shipment is on its way from the vendor with a tracking ID, and I'll have received the package before their system even registers it as being picked up half the time.

at least with USPS though I generally know the delivery will get there in good shape though, and typically in reasonable time. but their parcel tracking is abysmal.

in July, I got this from a vendor. I had never seen such a message, but here it is:

A label has been generated for your order

Your order will ship within 10 days of your order date. USPS HAS BEEN VERY SLOW TO SCAN PACKAGES, PLEASE DO NOT WORRY IF YOUR ORDER DOES NOT START TRACKING IMMEDIATELY, IT HAS BEEN SHIPPED.

The delivery did arrive. A bit slower than I had previously experienced, but the bulk of my parcel deliveries come from UPS and Amazon, not USPS so I can't claim to have regular enough experience to register a drop off in delivery times. But there's a lot of anecdotal evidence coming from friends and business owner acquaintances who use USPS frequently that delivery times have noticeably degraded.

I am not getting regular daily mail delivery. I've checked with my neighbors, lately we might go several days without any mail. Then the mailbox is crammed full when it does get delivered. It looks like what I get after I suspend mail delivery when I'm away on vacation, the amount of mail that's in there.

Definitely agree with the tracking issue. It’s the biggest flaw in the USPS system. Just last week I got 4 text alerts saying a package arrived at a Jacksonville office followed by texts saying left the office then more texts saying it arrived at the office again. The other main issue I have with them is their express service isn’t overnight many times anymore

I had a package coming via USPS.  It was an iffy vendor, so I was tracking is.  One day I check and it says the package was delivered in New York.  Living near Philly, I was concerned.  I waited until the next day, and saw that the status remained that it was delivered to a house in Warwick, NY.  I contacted the vendor, but didn’t get a response for 3 days, so I filed a dispute with the credit card company.  Of course, a few days later, the package finally arrived.  I’m not sure why it was marked as delivered a week before it actually was.

He had pivoted and blaming Amazon and other e commerce businesses

You can thank the new PMG for that. No OT means if the mail is heavy or someone calls off, you go without.

Democrats want the extra money to help handle the multiple ballots that they’re telling individual voters to mail in.

My Biden/Harris sign hasn't arrived yet.

This is for those voting from abroad.  That's what FWAB is - a Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot that you fill out if you think you may not receive your official ballot in time: https://www.fvap.gov/fwab-privacy-notice

It's a backup in case there are problems getting your official ballot in time.

The guidance in the above is literally from the government website for voting from abroad: https://www.fvap.gov/uploads/FVAP/VAO/faq_handout.pdf

What if I do not get a ballot?

If you do not receive an absentee ballot in time to return it to your state, you can use the FWAB as a backup ballot to vote for federal offices. If your official absentee ballot arrives after you send in the FWAB, then you can fill out and send in the official ballot as well. Your state will count only one.

but please, tell me more about the democratic conspiracy to enrich their states through extra money to count the occasional duplicate ballot......

Me too,  I only go to my mailbox a couple of times a week now.

Can't believe this is happening in an election year., and in 2020----- every single politician and dept. run by our government is corrupt or inefficient.

Bah, Trump was just trolling everyone to get a reaction.

yeah probably. I'd expect most of the sorting capacity to be in/near big cities.

but basically the ones being removed are all near blue areas.

though I have to think there are sorting centers in rural areas as well, even if they're lower capacity.

Not great.

elimination of overtime.

partially filled distribution trucks being released prematurely while there's still mail to be transported between facilities.

management throttling the amount of mail being processed by sorters.

all just part of a typical stress test. this is how private industry works! we're just bringing that efficiency to the USPS.....

Getting awfully swampy.

maybe the swamp drain got clogged from all of the construction debris from trump's wall.

it's almost like, since he fell into being president, why not enrich all his buddies with our tax dollars?

Expected as much. Kneecapping the USPS would have been political suicide.

Democracy is still safe...well, with regard to locked mailboxes.  The viral photos were addressed by the post office, that they close them on Sundays to prevent vandalism and theft.

This was the obvious way out. Though I'd like to know if they're going to restore levels of service, not just suspend them at current levels.

I'm sure that's going to be addressed when he gets hauled in front of Congress.
