It was all about a political maneuver to force the republicans and potentially the president to cast a vote against the post office. Casting a vote to guarantee that these changes (outside of any voting issue) will turn us into a third world country for postal service.
August 23, 20205 yr Wife got a package from Poland in less than a month. Everything’s running smoothly now.

Democrats are riding a winning issue here and the rats are starting to jump from Trump's ship.
August 23, 20205 yr Sorting machines have been removed, postal vehicles seized, mail boxes removed, and the President is unwilling to fund the USPS. It's a calculated plan to suppress the vote. This is just one part of the suppression strategy.

August 24, 20205 yr Sorting machines aren't needed but no mail at all made it to the town I work in today. Still sitting in Harrisburg. This guy is beyond incompetent, even for a Trump appointee.
August 24, 20205 yr Dem committee members are incompetent. Instead of taking the easy layup DeJoy gives them on how he accidentally destroyed the USPS's ability to deliver mail they go for the half court shot of saying he did it intentionally.
August 24, 20205 yr The incompetence is staggering. This dude should have been nailed to wall and tar and feathered for his inability to answer simple questions that any C-suite executive should know. This isn't even getting into the devastating changes he made that brought the greatest mail service in the world to its knees. Instead we had questions about whether he had contacts with Trump's campaign.

The guy was squirming like a crack addict and refused to answer multiple times because he clearly didn't want to rat on the President. You know that eventually there will be leaks that show the link. Just frustrating that we have to wait.

Just frustrating that we have to wait. Who cares if he spoke to Trump? You'll never know. Nobody in this administration ever cooperates with Congress. That's a losing battle. What Congress can do is prosecute the total mismanagement and incompetence that DeJoy was more than willing to discuss for the past couple of days. They could have made the case to the American public that Trump has, yet again, surrounded himself with someone who is a complete and total idiot and is way over his head. And it's causing real pain for Americans as the USPS can't even manage to perform its most basic function.
August 24, 20205 yr Author Democrats incompetent? Unheard of! It's not like they had four years to find a compelling presidential candidate but ended up with Biden instead.

But what I meant when I used link was it will come out as an aside to one of the numerous Trump scandals that will surely come out in the coming years. People will say, "I knew it", but it will have less meaning after the election is long past.

August 25, 20205 yr https://www.westernslopenow.com/news/local-news/new-mail-sorting-machine-at-grand-junction-usps-thrown-out/ Quote The clerk added, "it took two months to set up and they were just about to do a test run when the postmaster general ordered us to take it out, now we’re sorting by hand. No wonder they say we’re losing money when they throw out expensive machines like that.” A brand new mail sorting machine in the dumpster. Just after initial setup. Your tax dollars at work. Thanks President Donnie!!!

Yes, it was already in financial straits, but the pre-funding legislation intentionally exacerbated it. Also, it's funny that we talk about things like USPS in terms of profitability. It's the United States Postal Service. Services don't make money; they cost money. Why don't we talk about the military in the same terms? It's a public service. Why aren't we decrying the "losses" to the Pentagon over the past 20 years that pale in comparison to those of USPS?
August 26, 20205 yr Services need to be self sufficient. i wouldnt say the military is a service, however i am all for cutting spending. but if you want to go there, surely you want to cut SS and Medicare because they make the military look like peanuts.
