Then there are a lot of other things to look at than USPS. 
 

Their financial troubles are the antithesis of a free market. That is what happens when the government interferes. Their financial problems were due to government lobbying. It’s the same as government granted oligopolies.

Imagine all the uproar if all the machines were taken down for background checks for firearms. Voting is just as much a right as firearm ownership, but Republicans have shown once again the constitution does not matter to them.

I don't care if it costs $25 billion or more as long as every American citizen gets to exercise their right to vote. 

The USPO absolutely needs fixing and think parties on both sides would agree to that but F now isn't the time.

Fauci has already come out and said its safe to vote in person.  Those that can't do it in person can do it through the existing absentee ballot process.  This notion that Trump is blocking people from voting by opposing this new federally mandated mail in voting process is absurd.  Mail in voting is being pushed for one reason and one reason only...Democrats know if they make it stupid proof to vote they will get a better turnout guaranteeing them a win.  If you can go to the grocery store then you can go to the voting booth.

I have still have not received my package that have been in USPS customs limbo for past 3weeks. Normal delivery is under a week.

It is easy to vote.  But a change to our entire election process requires more than just one side's decision, a gross amount of money and three months to implement.

I was referring to the billions of dollars that the Cares Act distributed to the USPS under the disguise of a COVID bailout which we discussed at length.  Nowhere did I say or suggest that the USPS was principally funded by tax dollars.  Why is it so hard for you to admit you're wrong?

I’ve waited 4 months for stuff from Poland through the usps earlier this year. Delay had more to do with corona than anything trump was doing.

I'm sure there are examples before this, but I grew up watching Stewart's "The Daily Show".  Personally I've always enjoy watching the news discussed frankly and with some humor. Not a big  fan of Stewart's replacement Trevor Noah, but Oliver makes me laugh.  It also happens to be one of the most intelligent and well researched news shows out there despite the comedy.  He has a hell of a research team behind him and the limited scope of each episode allows them to do some really great deep dives into issues. By far the best show/project etc to branch out from The Daily Show IMO.

Good response.

I don't agree with Oliver's politics and he can be somehow be both self righteous and self deprecating almost at the same time in a way that's irritating at times, but I have not been able to really dispute much of anything he's said on a factual basis. There is obvious spin and hyperbole, but the underlying factual basis is there.

Contrast this with a-holes like Hannity and Carlson who lie by omission and peddle conspiratorial speculation as "fact".
