 sure you were...

But since we're being disingenuous I'll simply remind you that the Cares Act allowed the USPS to borrow money in exchange for access to USPS's most lucrative contracts.

So what's that? Two whiffs in a row? Want to go for strike three?

Suckers like you are hard to find.  While I'm sure the USPS has the best intentions, they have no possible avenue of paying back that money and you know it.  Not to mention the $25 billion that Pelosi is trying push in their direction for mail in voting.  Now, if we could make major substantive reforms to make the Postal Service profitable, then you might have a chance to turning things around and paying that money back.

Oh, wait...I forgot...you're against any reforms, so I guess we're just giving it to them.

No bank in the world would have made that "loan".  Only the United States Government would be stupid enough to do so.

Or, ya know, we could acknowledge that the USPS has room for improvement but maybe consider that in a presidential election year during a pandemic, maybe ensuring that citizens are able to participate in this 200+ year old experiment in democracy is worth it?

We want less of the stupids voting not more

Then you want aristocracy through selective representation not democracy.

I love the left's imaginary crusade to defend the postal service. DEFEND USPS!

Great plan by Trump to screw over seniors - the group that’s actually the most likely to vote for him.

How in the world do you people remain so incredibly ignorant?

I was talking to a guy today and was telling me how great it is that trump is gonna cut taxes to help people like me out..... I said " I don't want it because I'll have to pay that back and he is cutting those taxes from social security......" He said " he is?" I said " yup" that changed his tune real quick. He is retired and followed that idiot blindly and didn't think trump would ever do anything to hurt his followers.

They're not. They're just so devoted at this point it doesn't matter what he does. Defending him is just a reflex.

This really is the best way to get people to notice

The US has never been a purr democracy

because the founders well understood the folly of mob rule

Kinda f'ing amazing that needs to be spelled out.  I actually thought this was something Trump would choose to do more on the down low.  Sabotaging the election via the postal service in such a blatant manner is only going to incite people to vote earlier and even more.

Fauci has already come out and said its safe to vote in person.  Those that can't do it in person can do it through the existing absentee ballot process.  This notion that Trump is blocking people from voting by opposing this new federally mandated mail in voting process is absurd.  Mail in voting is being pushed for one reason and one reason only...Democrats know if they make it stupid proof to vote they will get a better turnout guaranteeing them a win.  If you can go to the grocery store then you can go to the voting booth.

Yeahrright.  And then election day comes and the voting lines are an hour long.  Nope, senior citizens now more than ever need mail in voting.  Any argument to the contrary is absurd.

Then they can use the tried and true absentee ballot process that has existed for years.  We don't need a new Federal mail in voting program that's going to cost us north of $25B and impeded our ability to reform the Postal Service.

Actually, we look at the facts, critique him where he's wrong and praise him where he's right.  The rest of you just denounce him as evil and racist and convince yourselves that every single thing he does is diabolical.

I'm sure there are examples before this, but I grew up watching Stewart's "The Daily Show".  Personally I've always enjoy watching the news discussed frankly and with some humor. Not a big  fan of Stewart's replacement Trevor Noah, but Oliver makes me laugh.  It also happens to be one of the most intelligent and well researched news shows out there despite the comedy.  He has a hell of a research team behind him and the limited scope of each episode allows them to do some really great deep dives into issues. By far the best show/project etc to branch out from The Daily Show IMO.

It's funny you guys brought up Oliver.  The other day this came up in my suggested videos and I watched it.

TLDW:  Not necessarily misleading, but ignores the full scope of the issue being discussed for lulz

Way to self-own there.

We have a game show host who is president (that you're defending). Is that the game you really want to play?

 He's the Fing president, numb nuts. Also literally the reason for what's happening with the USPS right now.
