But, it could be in Howie's ego to go and build another team, like he has done with our Iggles. Job security be damned, I would think he has enough clout throughout the NFL to get pretty much any job he wants.
January 7Jan 7 There are plenty of teams in the league with big holes at the very top of the organization. No shortage. Look at the Giants, Cleveland, Jets, Dallas for starters. There was a long period when the Eagles were one of those franchises. We need to count our blessings that the team has an effective owner and is being run by arguably the top executive in the league.
January 7Jan 7 So, this crazy talk started with a sports talk show caller? I saw that Tony Pauline (reporter/sports "insider") suggested this as well. So, either the caller was copying him, or Pauline copied the caller. Either way...

January 7Jan 7 On 12/26/2024 at 4:22 PM, Sack that QB said: No, he's highly paid and couldn't be offered a promotion. That's what I was thinking, it'd be a lateral move so the Eagles (if I'm not mistaken), could deny any requests for interviews. If it was for a higher level job, that would be different. So, if anyone wants to hire Howie, it would have to be a trade situation (like Gurden from the Raiders to the Bucs). If the Giants want Howie, we get their picks from rounds 1 through 6 (they can have the 7th round), including any picks that they trade for that fall into those rounds, for the next 20 drafts. Plus, each season, up until the trade deadline, we can take any one of their players that we so desire with no further compensation from us. Agree to that, and then we can talk.

A reporter, blog, tweet or website will make up a speculation question asking if something could happen. Others will cite that to discuss the same question. Then fans & even media will say "multiple reports" or think that because it's on the internet it is "reported."

Media, in all forms, is "suspect" this day and age. Sad, really.
January 12Jan 12 I’m sure many teams in the NFL will look to the Eagles FO and try and steal some of the people in the organization. I don’t see Howie wanting to leave the Eagles because I don’t think any other organization would give Howie the power he has in Philly.
