The acting and casting were good. The effects were top notch. The writing/story and directing, not so much. At least with the first one. I only watched maybe 10 or 15 minutes of the second one, then turned it off. Didn't watch anything that came after that one and if I'm in a Star Trek kind of mood, those movies aren't on my go to list.

I like them for the nostalgia factor and that the cast was so good and the likenesses on point. But they wouldn’t be movies I’d go to when I’m in a Star Trek mood. It’s like the last 3 Star Wars movies. Love the nostalgia but I’ll hit up the originals when I want to watch Star Wars.

By ''originals" I hope you mean the theatrical releases (which can be found), and not the versions that Lucas butchered by doing things like adding Hayden Christensen into the end of Return of the Jedi. First time I watched that one when it came out, I audibly yelled at the TV lol. I'm not a fan of how George Lucas treated the original three movies beginning sometime in the 90's. Changing the title of the first movie by adding a sub-title and episode number wasn't a big deal but I'm not a fan of the CGI characters/creatures and such. It was perfect the way I saw it in the theater in 1977. Oh, and to stay on topic for the thread, I wonder what the political ramifications are going to be after the fires are out and the rebuilding begins.

The best way to combat homelessness is to institutionalize them, which at itself comes with a cost, so I feel like the right won’t go for it because it’s still gonna cost money, and the left won’t because they think it’s going to be One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Realistically we’re living in the Gilded Age 2.0, so politics on either side is just going to be one massive grift for the next couple of decades until we can figure out social media. To be fair, 9 out of 10 institutionalized people in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest clearly belonged there
