gameshowfan91 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Teams want Moore as their head coach. I think this is one of those teams to promote an offensive coordinator to head coach. The work he has done this year has been good. He also made Dak Prescott look pretty decent when he was with Cowboys. 1
Mike030270 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Yes but I think the locker room would have a problem with firing Nick unless it's something really bad 1
beto_eagles Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Sure, let's fire the coach with the highest winning percentage in franchise's history and replace him with his OC. That will work wonderfully in the locker room; I'm sure everyone will love Moore and he'll go 17-0 without the burden of Sirianni's obnoxious personality and bad decisions. Oh, and that's an excellent image for the rest of the league too, every player and coach will be lining up to work for the Eagles afterward. 4

Eagles best years under Sirianni were with Shane Steichen and Kellen Moore. In 2023, they had Brian Johnson as OC, they faltered down the stretch after a 10-1 start to 11-6. Eagles also lost Frank Reich, and his OC replacement wasn't so good.

That bum would be nothing without his OCs. It's obvious he has nothing to do with the Eagles' success and it's beyond me how anyone can defend his inept ass.

And if Moore leaves, Eagles’ best years under Sirianni will be with Steichen, Moore, and another OC. Wonder what the underlying trend there is… Brian Johnson sucked. It’s not more complicated than that 3
Maga301 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I wouldn't say that decision is debatable but didn't Howie go out and choose Moore as the OC? So Nick cannot take credit for that diligence and hire, he was basically told to sit back and watch as Howie decided the coordinators. I will say that Nick has seemed to have gained the players trust after having a few rocky issues early this year. And since it has played out that way we may have to watch Moore leave for a HC job and Nick returns even without a SB. Sirianni was heavily under the microscope after 2023 and then it started to rear it's head early this year, but since then he has really kept it under control. Tough call by Howie and company. Let's see how prepared and focused we are for the playoffs. I think there is risk to both scenarios. One thing is for sure, talent is not the issue, not by a long stretch.
Portyansky Posted January 8 Posted January 8 So what you're saying is... They should bench Sirianni? 1 2
Portyansky Posted January 8 Posted January 8 We have had years to see who Nick is. He is not a game day coach (play caller), but obviously what he does throughout the week (the stuff we don't see), is enough that all the players like him. I know its a TV show, ever watch Ted Lasso?

Vileborg Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Promote Siri to VP of Player logistics or some other title. He'd still handle the mundane day to day stuff that bogs down a HC. Promote Moore to HC and let him collaborate with Siri on team decisions. I doubt they would do anything like this but it removes Siri from any kind of hotseat discussions. It encourages Moore to stay and take on more responsibilities with better pay and it keeps a pretty good group together. 1
DBW Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Are we even sure moore wants to go be a HC somewhere? If it’s about money? Lurie can make sure he’s taken care of. Winning culture like philly is hard to find elsewhere. So he takes a promotion to go be miserable in Chicago or Jax and lose all but a few games because they don’t have nearly the talent that is stacked up here? Unless he’s really dying to be a head coach just for the title and "power” I don’t see why he would leave. It’s a good situation here for many years to come. 1
UK_EaglesFan89 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I voted no on the basis that it’s impossible to tell the true impact Moore has had. And I’m not a huge Sirianni guy but look he’s got that locker room playing good football and they are together. There’s a lot to be said for that. Now he does need really good coordinators with him so that’s a slight issue but I’m not sure Moore is going to be a great HC? Impossible to tell but he’s bounced around a little as an OC without the opportunity to be HC so far? 1

This is something else I thought of if Moore would take head coach money to stay here as OC like they do with Jeff Stoutland.
Uscg-green Posted January 9 Posted January 9 This thread brought to you by someone that wanted a 2000 yard rusher benched for a dropped pass. 2
kiwinavega Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Good grief... OP, try and remember that it´s puff, puff, PASS.
ManchesterEagle Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Hey - this guy gets a lot of abuse but I hear Saquon credits him for his 2000 yard season. Demanding he be benched in week 3 certainly seems to have lit a fire. I’m sure Nick will mention him in his Super Bowl press conference. 1 1
EmeraldArcher7154 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 No i wouldnt. Kellen Moore has yet to prove to me that he is a top tier OC. The offense thisbyear has been give it to saquon and hope for the best. I havent seen any developement of Hurts or the passing game.

NOTW Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I was on the fire Siri bandwagon after last year because of weeks and weeks of collapse with seemingly no changes, other than swapping Defensive Coordinators which made things worse. This season the game management and decisions and the emotional tantrums were very concerning. However, he really got his ish together. At times he went too conservative to overcorrect for being too aggressive and zealous, but then he quickly balanced that out. I think when he was talking back to that fan and got national criticism, they had some good talks internally because he was different after that. I think that was his wake up call and he's grown up throughout the season. The players like him and support him. This team did not collapse this year. When they struggled, they bounced back. Even Fangio has praised Siri recently.
