Hello (mods, please feel free to merge this and delete this comment if need be)

Just came across this video of an analyst called Peter Schrager talking about Joedan Mailata before he was drafted. It's brilliant. I never heard of the guy - he's hardly a household name here in Spain - but it's very perceptive. Hope you enjoy it

The funny thing is, we didn't even expose him to the PS. He showed so much potential in TC and pre-season, that he made the 53. We stashed him on IR early on, which probably slowed his growth a little since you can't practice with the team during the season, but he demonstrated special ability in his first week of OTAs --- enough that we weren't letting anybody else take him away.

I was a huge fan of Jordan’s from day one! My supervisor at the time was from South Africa and a huge Rugby fan. I found it an interesting conversation at work and hoped for much success for Jordan.  It’s awesome to see how far he has came.

Whilst I agree it could have slowed his growth that first year would have given him time to watch and learn. To study and to listen to others. He knew next to nothing about the game so maybe that year was one of the most important? Hell at the very least it gave him time to learn how to put on a helmet 😉.

He was clearly a project when he was drafted. There's plenty for a player like that to learn, but being able to practice and learn is better than just going to meetings and watching film. TBH, if it wasn't for all the injuries in 2020, he probably wouldn't have played much that season, but he developed quickly with the playing time.

Doug Pederson was someone who wanted veterans to play. Young guys got their chance because of injuries.

I wanted to see Mailata on the defensive line......with his size, power and speed he could have caused a huge amount of havoc.

This was put out back in 2018.
