February 21Feb 21 From a Washington message board (I posted this in the Commanders thread but it works here, too): 1 minute ago, VaBeach_Eagle said: I was curious to see what some of their message boards had to say about the Super Bowl. The below link is to a web archive of their Super Bowl thread. Their site limits the number of pages you can view before requiring you to join, so I archived it on archive.org to get around that. For that reason, I only did the Super Bowl and not the NFCCG, but that can be done later. They seem to think that they'd have beaten the Chiefs, based on how the Chiefs played against us. https://web.archive.org/web/20250221231414/https://www.bgobsession.com/threads/the-super-bowl™️-lix-thread.180409/
February 22Feb 22 I did see most of their GDT from the link VA-Beach posted in the blog, but I believe he posted a link starting right at game time. I'm going thru the early parts of that thread now, and it's just a repeat of their mass delusions from the lead up thread, and beyotching about the GDT starter. It actually gave me the idea that someone should join their board next year, and purposefully start their GDT late the evening before. I don't mean a Super Bowl thread. Hopefully they're not in it again. It can just be one of their games against the Chargers, or Broncos. Just to F with their heads.
February 22Feb 22 Holy ish I just found this gem Quote Do they really have more talent? Where? QB - Advantage KC... Duh RB - Advantage PHI... Duh WR - Advantage KC... We're healthy and far deeper. They have AJ and a banged up Smith, that's it Justin Watson has more catches and yards than Jahan Dotson for ****s sake TE - Advantage KC... Duh OL - Advantage PHI... It's not by much though. Our interior 3 are better than theirs and the gap between Taylor and Johnson isn't that great anymore. DL - Advantage KC ... It's not close. Omenihu > Smith, Karlaftis > Sweat, Jones > Carter, Wharton > Davis. It's just not even ****ing close. And, we have better depth. LB - Advantage KC... Baun is doing this year what Bolton has done every year of his career and the rest of our corps is better than theirs by a mile. CB - Advantage KC... Nobody on this planet is telling me two rookies and an old Slay is better than McDuffie, Watson, and whoever else we want to trot out there with them. S - Advantage KC... Reid has been bad this year and is still better than Chauncey. Cook and Blankenship are pretty much a push. God help Philly if they have to use their depth here. K - Advantage KC... Butker is one of the greatest of all time and Elliott can't make a 50 yarder. P - Push... Both Araiza and Mann are solid. I'd feel better about Araiza if you truly need to flip the field but that's unlikely. They thought they had better players at nearly every position group

February 22Feb 22 Just looking at their receiving stats, their reception leader was a TE. He had 327 more yards than Goedert, but Goedert missed 7 games. Kelce missed 1. If they played the same number of games and the averages held, they'd be neck and neck, yards wise and dead even TD wise. WR wise, AJ at 1079 YDS with 7 TDs and Smith at 833 a8 TDs trumps Worthy's 638/6 and Hopkins' 437/4 If A.J. played all 17 games like Worthy, A.J. has more than double Worthy's total (using the average Y/G). Same with DeVonta vs. Hopkins. So how they could be so delusional to think that they had us at WR is comical. Spoiler With regard to TE, like I said, Dallas missed 7 games. Using the averages, they're nearly dead even for 2024. They're only claiming the advantage at TE based on his name/past. Not the 2024 season. At least not a fair comparison of the 2024 season. At OL and DL, I think the Super Bowl settled that debate. Same with LB and DB, and I'm on this planet and I'm telling them that two rookies and an old Slay are better than "McDuffie, Watson, and whoever else we want to trot out there with them." The Eagles in 2024 gave up 3,266 receiving yards while the Chiefs gave up 3,970. The DB's don't account for all of that, but you get the point. Kicker wise, this was definitely an off year for Jake. No sugar coating that. Hopefully it was just whatever injury he was dealing with and the old Jake is back to normal next season. But the 'can't make a 50 yarder' thing, yes Jake missed far more than he made. He was 1 for 7 at 50+. Butker was 2 for 5. So he tried 2 fewer, but only made 1 more. That's not to say we had any advantage at Kicker. None of us had a lot of confidence in Jake this year. I get it though. We think we're better than them, they think they're better than us. The only way to know who's correct is to play the game and see who wins the Lombardi. Hey KC Fans... how'd that work out for you all?

February 24Feb 24 I'm getting vibe from the Chiefs that reminds me of what happened to the Eagles after they lost the SB in 2005. The Chiefs won't have the TO drama, but I see a team in decline. Travis Kelce is all but gone, and even if he does return (unlikely), he won't be like the old Travis. Sans Travis, Mahomes goes down a peg or two. Short term, I'm sure the team will patch up the oline - but the Eagles put on a clinic how to shut down Mahomes and the rest of the league has taken notice. Plus the Chiefs are coming down from the fatigue of playing in the SB three straight years, with the huge letdown of getting humiliated in SB 59. I expect to see some 9-8, 10-7 years for this team in the near future - but don't expect to see them reach their peak they've enjoyed over the past five years. Chiefs have been exposed, the talent level is being more depleted on offense, and the air has been let out of the Chiefs' balloon. That franchise is going down a couple of pegs until the GM can add more significant talent on the offense.

I only made it halfway through Edit: And it's not with the previous two superbowl threads. I wonder why... Yeah, weird. Apparently they've had Pats fans go to troll them about Mahomes not being the GOAT. I might need to register to see more. Also the one dewshy guy in the GDT started the cowards and losers list it's a fun read the last few days leading up to and after the SB. https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=355127&page=66 One guy says he's a former Navy Seal and is threatening to murder another fan for internet trash talk. Yikes. The poster goes by "booby Meat."
February 24Feb 24 Author Fun to read Chiefs fans complaining about Reid (not running the ball, game decisions), and criticizing Mahomes a lot who is the best QB in the league. Puts fans here complaining about Hurts in perspective.
February 24Feb 24 Author They have a version of RnR with posters banned to only be allowed to post there. This guy's theory. Adam Sandler!
February 24Feb 24 Author They have a topic dedicated to Mahomes new hair. "Much better look, clean fresh and ready to kick ass" "its a message to the haters..look the **** out"

February 26Feb 26 @Procus I think you nailed this. The Chiefs are SB toast. You are not owed SBs you are not given SBs (well, they were this year with 3 playoff losses and ref assistance) Their O-line is a tragedy and they either vastly overpay to keep the same tragedy or they lose Smith and now have 3 massive holes at O-line. Their D is about to be broken apart with about 7 of the top 17 contributors as free agents. The best thing for everyone else is for Kelce to stay at that cap hit. He is 2017 Celek now being paid like 2020 Kelce. This is not a knock on an obvious first ballot HoF player. He is just going to be 36 in October and he's played 25 extra games. This is a team that beat Vegas on a snap hitting the QBs leg when he was not looking and a blocked kick. They won OT games and one score games vs bad teams. They got a win by 1/10th of a toe. They will have a far worse roster next year. Their good players will be even older. They will still compete for a playoff spot but I could see Denver or LA jumping them with solid offseasons and the Ravens being way better than them. I could see Houston fixing their O-line and WR2 and beating them. (Houston already outscored them by 1 in a playoff game minus the ref assisted drives) Mahomes will be probably be back in the SB. It might be 8 years from now.
February 26Feb 26 The other thing about the Chiefs is they lost all their mojo. Players who want to get on that train will go to Philly, Detroit, DC, Buffalo, or Baltimore before KC now. They will consider Denver, LA(AFC), and Houston along with KC as 2nd tier destinations. NFL players see it. Ring chasers have moved on.

There is a middle line where Andy is good enough to win and Mahomes and that roster made him win multiple times. You can't ignore how far below the winner line McNabb always was in the playoffs. The Eagles roster was good enough about 5 times. Mahomes 19 TDs 4 turnovers in 7 AFCCGs McNabb 7 TDs 11 turnovers in 5 NFCCGs For comparison: Foles/Hurts 8 TDs 0 turnovers in 3 combined NFCCGs I think I found the difference.
February 26Feb 26 2 rule changes are happening and both are in response to ref assistance for the Chiefs. Computer aided ball spotting is coming. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/nfl-plans-to-use-state-of-the-art-technology-for-measurements-in-2025 Expanded review of personal foul calls (only for calls, not making new calls) https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/competition-committee-favors-expanded-replay-assist-be-limited-to-penalties-called-on-the-field The Chiefs had 5 horrible calls go their way in the playoffs. These rule changes could take care of 4 of them. I don't know how you fix ruling an interception or incompletion as a catch for the offense. The Packers, Falcons, and Bills can cry about the Brotherly Shove from superior athletes but the actual rule changes will be to rein in the Chiefs very real unfair advantage.

Reid's mistake was leaning too much on McNabb and not enough on the OL - especially in that playoff game against Tampa. McNabb was coming off a broken leg, and Tampa had a smallish D. Eagles OL could have out physicaled, Tampa's D - and with the right play calling, not put McNabb in the position to lose the game for the team, which he did. Against Carolina, if he would have run the ball more, chances are McNabb doesn't get injured. He certainly doesn't throw all those picks.

Identical defensive game plans in 2004 and 2024 BB was not letting "Where's Waldo" Westbrook beat them and McNabb was just nowhere near good enough. Spags was not letting Sa' 2K beat him and Hurts ripped his lungs out.
