opa-opa Posted February 24 Posted February 24 That is all I hear on the radio this weekend. Anyone else noticed this? This team will never get any respect.
CouchKing Posted February 24 Posted February 24 And I just saw today that the Rams are looking to unload Stafford and Kupp. If they were that close, they wouldn't be unloading Stafford. 4 1
NOTW Posted February 24 Posted February 24 The Pats & Chiefs won a lot of close games, they're called winners. In 2017 season, the Falcons were one play away. Then the Eagles dominated the Vikings. Eagles dominated the Commies & Chiefs. Losers just rationalize. Jealous haters just want to diminish what they did. 5

gregbwfc1 Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Could argue the Eagles were only one play (or in this case call) away from potentially beating the Chiefs in SB 57. Same against Arizona in 2008 🤷♂️ Every close game can be scrutinised and a case made for it going the other way Anyroad, 😁 1 7 1

UK_EaglesFan89 Posted February 24 Posted February 24 We can’t be great in every single game. Yeah the Rams were one potential play away. I’m sure in the moment a lot of us thought that was going to be a loss. So what? Carter made 2 huge plays and we didn’t lose the game. We then stomped the Communists and the Chiefs. The Falcons beat us in week 2. The Bucs in week 4 and the Commies again later in the year. Does that make them better than us? Absolutely not. 2
time2rock Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Reminds me of the forty-whiners after that asswhoopin' we gave them in the NFCCG 2 years ago. All you heard afterward for the entire offseason is how they would have won IF blah blah blah. You lost ... get over it. The participation trophy generation can't handle loss. 8

I’ve said for years in the UK this whole non competitive sports day stuff of nonsense. That it is teaching our kids bad habits and not setting them up for real life. I’d never thought about the impact it could have to their sports viewing mindset though. 2

It's a results business, winning is everything. And it's difficult. If it wasn't, we'd all be doing it. Coulda, woulda, shoulda and all that. Anyway, again 1

Those 49er fans were delusional. No way was a rookieqb coming cross country and winning a championship game in Philly. Yes he got hurt the first drive but that same ol proceeded to let another qb get hurt so that kills the "if Purdy never got hurt" argument because even if he didn't get hurt that early he wouldn't have finished the game 1

And also like sport is about winning. And life in general is competitive. Going for a new job you will usually have competition or going for a promotion it is the same.
EagleJoe8 Posted February 24 Posted February 24 It’s not wrong, but it’s also irrelevant. There have been many teams that came close to an upset along the way to a championship. The Chiefs came a BS non first down call from possibly not playing in the Super Bowl. The Giants were a "wide right” FG from losing Super Bowl 25. Many examples can be made along the way. Who cares?

In 2017 Eagles were one Julio mis jump in the endzone from a 1st round playoff exit, but that didnt happen, no one today other than falcon fans are thinking what if .. 2

Portyansky Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Are they wrong? Did they? Remember the Falcons game in 17/18?

Even Falcon fans aren’t thinking of that. Their jaws haven’t come off the floor since the Super Bowl LI collapse. 1

Falcons had no business losing that game nor did the seahawks have any business losing to the pats Still hilarious that chiefs on the sideline were referencing that falcons game then hurts hit the dagger to Smitty and Boom all the chiefs on the sideline getting their diapers changed😄 2

Right. I also still remember at the end of the first half, Foles through up a duck which should have been easily intercepted but instead bounced off a safety’s knees and landed in the arms of Smith. If that is intercepted big swing in the game (and Foles turned into super Foles pretty shortly after). Eagles had pretty much no close games last year, either regular season or post season. Sure the Rams came close, but almost every Super Bowl winner has a game like that. Fact is we were 13 points up in that game in the late 4th, so it’s not like they were in control at any point. 1
NOTW Posted February 24 Posted February 24 The Rams were so close that they are letting Stafford seek a trade and I heard a rumor about Kupp also? Mahomes changed his hair, Kelce might retire, Chris Jones was crying on his knees in the Super Bowl. The Eagles broke these teams. 1 1

pgcd3 Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Sure the way it played out they were close but we were also up by 2 scores with 4 minutes left so they were a play on the previous drive away from losing by over 10. We win that game 8 out of 10 times imo but like any game there's always a scenario where you lose in the nfl
