Losers are going to rationalize why they lost. Bottom line: They didn't make that one play they needed to in order to win. Therefore, they lost. End of discussion.
February 24Feb 24 Just saw the new commercial of Jalen Hurts throwing a burning football to light the torch at the Las Angeles coliseum. It was a flag football advertisement. Must be horrible for them that our QB gets to light the torch in the commercial for their stadium. The commercial was amazing. Hurts looks iconic in it.
February 24Feb 24 We were one play away from beating the Patriots in XXXIX. We were one play away from beating the Chiefs in XLVII. The Falcons were one play away from beating us in the Divisional round of 2017. The thing about it is, those 'one plays' for those teams never happened. We got that 'one play' for us, that prevented them from getting that 'one play' for them, that might have won them the game. That aside, a football game is more than 'one play'. It might come down to one play but had the Rams done their jobs successfully during the whole game, it might not come down to that 'one play'. The Eagles did their jobs successfully and won the game.
February 24Feb 24 As to the Rams, they had four downs and didn't get it done. Stafford wasn't even close to the receiver on the 4th down throw. What do they want a fifth down? Who knows what could have happened if they got the first down. Coop could have had his first pick 6 or Carter could've broken both Stafford's legs and ended his career. Shoulda, coulda, woulda but didn't get it done.

It's also a fact though that the Eagles (Jalen Carter) were the ones to make the plays and win the game, and then the Eagles won two more games in convincing fashion and won the SB.
February 24Feb 24 I read a Rams message board Super Bowl LIX thread last night and a bunch of them were saying that were it not for the snow, they'd be playing in the Super Bowl. But what they fail to see or understand is that the snow didn't just affect the Rams, it also affected the Eagles. Well, we can play that 'game' too... so, were it not for the snow, we'd have scored 60 points and would have blown them out completely.

February 24Feb 24 True, but then JC showed why he is an All-Pro and that was that. God bless because we rolled from then on.

And also… The Chiefs were praised for finding ways to win close games. Yet on the odd occasion we do it we are criticised for it? It’s just complete and utter BS. Great teams have great players and sometimes those great teams need those great players to step up and find a way to win a game.

I'm assuming Stafford's agent is behind the "one play away" comment to drive up the aging but talented QB's price.

That seems to be a common theme on many of the sports talk shows as well. Just this morning they were talking about Stafford and the Rams and how they were "one play away" from going to the NFCCG. Even if he completes that 4th down throw there is still no guarantee that they score a TD to steal a W.
February 25Feb 25 I gotta admit, I was sweating it out right down to the end. Carter saved that game for us with the sack and following pressure on fourth down. Sometimes thats what it takes to win in this league. Bottom line is that we won and the rest is now history.

February 25Feb 25 The sore loser mentality has always existed. The 49ers were butthurt about their loss to us (and rightfully so) because they did lose their QB. What was pathetic was how they tried to discredit how good that Eagles team was. They probably would've lost to us in 2022 either way, but we'll never know. I think this team winning it all and dominating the Chiefs proves just how legit that 2022 team was. Anyway, the Rams definitely could've won, but they didn't. There are tons of close games that would've ended the eventual Champions run.
February 25Feb 25 Any team that loses a game by less than 7 points could say that. The Eagles could say that about Super Bowl 57.

At the end of the day a lot of football games come down to a point here and a point there. A play here and a play there. Games are won and lost on small margins.

Either way, play stupid games...
February 25Feb 25 They could have won but they didn’t, we’re world champions so move on with your lives crybabies.
February 26Feb 26 The Rams game in the playoffs was definitely nerve-wracking. I'm sure many Eagles fans were watching that last drive and thinking "here we go again" after seeing the Falcons and Washington drive for game-winning TDs with relative ease against us this past year. And the Jags damn near did it too. Carter literally saved our season with his sack of Stafford and then the pressure on 4th against the Rams. If it wasn't for him individually, there's a decent chance the Rams do score the TD there. They were rolling at the time. But, we made the play and they didn't.
February 26Feb 26 9 minutes ago, EaglesAddict said: They were rolling at the time. The NFL script for the Rams now calls for them to rebuild for a couple years. Tough break. It makes very little sense for them to part ways with Stafford. Of course, I aint so smart. There are probably QB metrics / analytics and film analysis telling them that it's over soon anyway.
