Cheesteakitis Posted March 2 Posted March 2 A qb as the first pick? Seems a little much but I guess we are a qb factory

Crazy Legs Posted March 2 Posted March 2 I seriously doubt Dart makes it to pick #64. Rather, I would consider trading pick #32 to the Giants if Dart is still on the board and they seriously want to grab him before he gets snapped-up. I would ask for their 2nd round pick this year and next.
CouchKing Posted March 2 Posted March 2 3 DT's, 2 TE's and zero OLine Very interesting. And a QB Are you sure we're not trading up for one? Shedeur Sanders in the late first round. Wheeling and dealing. 5 trades. 2 picks in 2026. What a draft?!

Howie clearly looks to wheel and deal so I look at each trade offered by the software as he would. I certainly didn’t go into this with a QB in mind, but when Dart slipped that far, he was too good to pass up. I fully expect Howie to trade Pickett regardless and having Dart makes fielding trade offers for either Pickett or McKee easy to do … especially in a QB starved league like the NFL is now. The two TEs are very complementary with Arroyo being an excellent receiver and Hawes a superb blocker.
CouchKing Posted March 2 Posted March 2 I don't do a lot of real analysis. But, a video or two I saw said the DT and TE classes are strong this year. Nothing nice to say about the QB and WR classes. Could be worst QB class since 2022 one video said. I dunno. That's what they said. Side note, I twice opened threads in Players I Wanna Get area re: Quinn Ewers. Both were shut down. Don't think we need him right now, but why shut it down? Why the hate? Riddle me this @Moderator6. Calling mods out for premature thread shutdown on a real prospect Quinn Ewers. Did you see Quinn Ewers leading Texas in the NCAA playoffs? Starting in front of super prospect young Arch Manning? Demerit points for the mods. Trade Pickett? Maybe. he doesn't cost much this year, but will cost too much in his option year next year. So, maybe Howie moves him in the summer when other clubs have an injury. So, DT . ... yes. TE ... yes. Edge .... yes. Prob higher than you picked. Trading all the way down to #63 ... prob not. Howie's gotta get his guy, whoever that is. I like all that Eagles met with prospect lists/news. That's like a little smoke. Where there's smoke, there's fire. Howie's gonna pick a few of them.

Regarding Ewers I think for a while the thought was he was going to stay in college and transfer somewhere… I actually thought he had till I saw he was taking place in the combine. Maybe that had something to do with the thread being shut down.

So, maybe Howie moves him in the summer when other clubs have an injury. The impetus to trade Pickett is all about succession planning. Last offseason McKee was pretty much an unknown so Howie brought Pickett in as injury insurance with a known (but low ceiling) track record. McKee showed a lot in the Preseason games and then even more in the late Regular Season games. So (for me) he is ready to be the primary QB backup rather than Pickett. So rather than keeping Pickett around, better to trade him and bring in the next developmental rookie. The QB class is very weak at the top compared to past years, but there are several interesting Day 2 and Day 3 QBs that can be like McKee was two years ago. Kyle McCord from Syracuse and Tyler Shough from Louisville and especially the Canadian Taylor Elgersma all are interesting to me. Jaxson Dart is a step above those three, ands he may even make it into the late 1st Round, which would be good for the Eagles prospects of getting a good DT/Edge with their first pick. There might even be a similar trade opportunity to the one in 2018 when the Ravens traded with the Eagles for picck #32 and took Lamar Jackson. Both teams won in that trade. Dart could be the 2025 version of Jackson. 1

Whoever picks Colorado CB/WR Travis Hunter in the top of the 1st comes back into the 1st round at pick #32 for a QB. Eagles pick at or near the top of round 2. 1

Would love a trade like that even if the net gain would be something along the lines of moving up from the bottom of the 4th to the top of the 4th and a 6th or something like that without looking at the trade value chart and projecting an actual trade
pgcd3 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Arroyo & Alexander are both reportedly climbing and could go in first but certainly 2nd before 60

Why are you posting this in someone else's mock draft topic to derail it with your complaining? B. You started two topics about him: 2022 and 2023, both were locked (by a different mod btw) because he wasn't eligible for years. He is now eligible this year. I have unlocked the recent one: https://www.eaglesmessageboard.com/topic/9396-quinn-ewers-qb-texas-2025-draft/ How about instead of publicly trying to call out mods and derailing someone else's thread with an off-topic rant, you learn how to use the forums and post players that are actually available, or send me a message if you have a concern. 1

A. This is more fun. ( I just read the guidelines and see where it says to PM a mod with issues.) B. I like to be right about QB's that make it to the pros. No need to close that thread.

It's QB Quinn Ewers that will go end of 2nd through the 5th, if you want a spare QB. Or, we just sign a vet or an undrafted QB. Wondering when they will re-evaluate / restack the player prospects in the simulator based off combine results.

I agree Dart won’t be there, but it was the scenario that the simulator presented. At that point he was too good a BPA value to pass up. Part of the reason why he was available in that simulation was that there was an early run on Edges. So, with the thought in mind that Jalen Carter, like Fletchers Cox, can move outside in a bunch of snaps, I took the three DTs. The two TEs were very complementary … Arroyo’s receiving chops and Hawes’ blocking chops. At QB my realistic developmental QB is Kyle McCord from Syracuse and/or adding Taylor Elgersma from Canada as a UDFA 1
Cheesteakitis Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I really wanted Joe Milton last year as a developmental qb but knew after we traded for Pickett that wasn’t going to happen. Be interesting to see if we trade any of our current qbs… if not I would guess we only sign any udfa or something along those lines.

I’m comfortable with McKie as QB2, so hope Pickett is traded before the Draft to QB needy team for a 25 or 26 pick.
