A steal for the Commanders.  Watching he vs DeJean will be epic.

I expect them to draft a WR in the first 3 rounds.  Then they have a potent passing attack.

Sweat is gone and Williams too.  It's a deep DT class.  I expect we will select one no later than the 3rd-4th round.

We need to go DE in the 1st or trade down and take one early 2nd. Washington will be our chief rival going forward.  We have to keep pressure on Daniels.

NFL.com says they're open to trading Aiyuk as well. Who is Purdy supposed to throw to?

They had solid offers before the last draft for Aiyuk and should have taken them knowing their salary cap situation.

Bad move to pay him huge money.  Who is willing to pay him that much now.

Niners will take a huge hit on the compensation by waiting a year and saddling themselves with that contract that

drives down his value on the trade market

Every idiot in the Bay Area thought the Niners were going to go undefeated last year and waltz their way through the playoffs to a Super Bowl championship.  It is sweet being an Eagles fan here right now.

What does this have to do with the eagles? Also Deebo isn’t near the player he once was.

No one reads around the nfl.  This directly affects us as it is our number one rival in the division and has draft implications for our team

We just put 55 points on the Commanders.

They are more concerned about us than we are of them.

Maybe their Deebo is supposed to be like our Shayshawn.

This allows Commanders to address a need prior to free agency and draft.

And, Commanders are definitely better under new owner Josh Harris and coach Dan Quinn.

Jayden Daniels looks like the real deal and is making the GM and head coach look good.

Division? They play in the West.  They are also nobody right now. Heading for a rebuild .  Detroit, Green Bay, TB and the Rams are all teams to be more concerned about.

Trying to get Daniels some weapons.  That being said, Deebo is a shell of his former self.  Stop gap move.

He went for a 5th rounder for a reason. That was the best they could do.

Cool they traded for an injury prone wr. We're still SB champs and beat them twice last year and hung up 55 on them in the NFCCG. We almost beat them with our backup QB

It is easy to suggest Daniels will regress in his 2nd year.  There is precedence for that.  we will see how competitive the commanders will really be.

Agreed.  Which is probably why they are trying to boost the talent around him.

While Deebo isn't what he once was, I still think this is a solid pickup. He can do a job and be a complement to McLaurin, who is a fine player. The other Commie to keep an eye on in my opinion (Daniels aside) is their rookie (this season) CB, Sainristil - apols if spelling wrong. He's a good player, too. I do think it's fair to say that the WAS team are going to be our divisional rivals for a couple of years

My mistake.  Still not worried about them.

They can have that injury prone drama queen

I hate the whiners a little less and the commanders a little more now. This was a good move by the whiners, though. He's way overpriced. He's made a lot of money thanks to 1 good season out of 7.

If you listen to Niners fans he doesn’t need good WRs to throw to. Apparently he’s that good.

As for this trade… A healthy Deebo is a very good player and a good weapon for Washington to add as their #2. But are they going to get a healthy and focused Deebo? He looked out of shape at the Super Bowl and whilst I know he’s got a lot of time to get in to shape I’m not sure that’s a good sign? I can’t imagine AJ or Jalen getting out of shape like that.

You would think the smart approach would be to realize you have a young, ascending team and to just continue to build through the draft and smart FA signings.  This move reeks of desperation to try to close the gap as quickly as possible.  After ONE year with the new regime and the future looking quite promising, they shouldn't need to feel that way, like they are in a "must win now" situation.

In fairness, it worked out for the Eagles when we traded for AJ Brown 1-year into a new staff building around a new, young QB. But Samuel is largely living off that 2021 outlier season. He may be better than Zaccheaus, but is he $14M better? Not in my book.
