I know he's often a pain in the ass to listen to but this year because I cancelled NFL network til next season I felt trapped to ESPN..his constant whining and ****ing about

Sanders not going yet ALL THE WAY to when he finally did and then beyond that was nails on a damn chalkboard. I hope ESPN does or says something to him over this, even

other analysts were trying to get him to stop..it was crazy. Did it bother anyone else in here or did you just go somewhere else. I know Barstool was killing him over as well.

I had NFLN on thru the draft, and even then, it was mostly just background noise til picks were made while I read the boards or did something else. It was talked about how insufferable Kiper was in the blog.

I only ever watch it on NFL Network. ESPN sucks

There's no way NFL network wasn't worse. They literally didn't mention the next 8 draft picks while they went on a commercial-less 30 minute marathon about how much they just wanted to hug Sanders. It was awful as usual.

Deion is to blame for Sanders losing millions of dollars.

Someone should ask Deion about his comments on the Browns.

Don't try to derail our rant about the Sanders coverage derailing the draft coverage experience by bringing that Sanders drama crap up! furious

Seems like that was just an addition. There have been reports that he bombed his interviews

I said something in the blog. I appreciate everything that MKJ did for the NFL draft. He is in large part responsible for it becoming a mainstream TV event that fans can enjoy. That being said, he jumped the shark a long time ago. The fact of the matter is he hasn't been very good on TV in a very very long time. ESPN made a huge mistake getting rid of McShay who is FAR better than MKJ at this point. It's time for ESPN to move on and for that matter the entire draft/draft production needs an overhaul as it has become so much more about advertising and the NFL **** all over itself than the players and discussing the players who are drafted minus a few guys who the media decides each year to cover.

As far as NFLN goes. I have tried every year for the last few to watch them instead and as bad as ESPN is they are even worse. Their production looks likes it from the early 00's which is insane with the NFL's budget and there is just something so bland and boring about their coverage.

I agree. I want so bad to watch the NFL network for the draft because I don't like ESPN. Another thing that's annoying about ESPN. They aren't good at showing what was giving up in draft trades. Other than that I prefer it over NFL network.

Part of the problem is the way the NFL conducts the draft with all the "show" aspects, the walk down the tunnel for Day 1, the virtue signaling at the podium, the fanfare, etc... I really don't need to see some rando fan walk up to the mic and try to "own" the moment by shouting out a fan "nation, mafia, kingdom or flock" and then stumbling through a few words on a card. So the networks covering the draft have to already include this nonsense which wastes valuable time and then have to find a way to get the commercials in as well. Depending on how much time it takes the next team to pick, it can really limit the time they have to cover the most current thing.

That is all we want when we watch the draft --- live coverage. I want them to talk about what is happening right now. Casual fans are not interested in sitting through 12 hours of draft picks --- so stop trying to integrate "show aspects" into a fluid, live event. All the interviews and previous day reactions can be done after the draft or on another show. STOP talking over the most recent pick. Stop talking about previous picks that were already covered. Again, you can have a post-draft show to recap whatever you want to gush about. But what both networks did after the Sanders pick is tone-deaf. You can't completely ignore the players that were also waiting for their moments. What a joke of a decision and really just shameful.

Does anybody know of a good, live webcast that actually covers the stuff real fans want from the draft? Does such an alternative exist? I mean not only was the NFL Network coverage brutal, their commercials were constantly on repeat (the same commercial twice in a row in the same break) --- almost as if they were trying to annoy the viewer in every way possible. It felt like it was a slap in the face immediately followed by a slap in the face.

I had no choice but to watch on ESPN... I know this draft class wasn't supposed to be loaded but this draft felt really boring compared to past years

NFL Network was pretty good. I haven't watched the draft on ESPN in years (maybe 10 years). I don't remember when NFL Network started, but that's when I stopped watching the draft on ESPN.

One thing I don't like about the draft is all the pomp and circumstance. Too much crap on day 1...We can do without it. Just fr'kn stick to calling out who was drafted like they did in the late rounds on day 3.

During Super Bowl week, Deion was on TV saying, "We're going to dictate terms to whoever wants to draft us." Hysterical.

I read Shadeur made $6 million at Colorado. He's not making that in the NFL, at least not with his rookie contract. So, hopefully, he managed his money wisely.

The draft has gotten pretty bad. I propose the alternate of not watching it, because it's bad. I love football, but I don't watch the draft anymore. It's insufferable. 10 minutes between picks in the first round, where you know full well they know who they are taking the whole time. All this so that ESPN can get ratings and that you can have somebody up there yelling DUUUUVALLL!!! when the Jags pick. And I have to sit there watching Kiper talk the whole time, too. It's unwatchable.

I was watching baseball and set a timer to go check every 10 minutes or so to see who had been picked. That made the draft a lot more pleasant.

10 minutes even with commercials? Lol

I can't listen to anything Kiper says. He screams everything and shakes uncontrolably. I have the volume off until I want to hear something

and watched the NFL network feed. Time to put Kiper out to pasture

I read where Tom Brady called him after he bought his rolls and suggested he tone it down and Sanders told him to F off

Yeah I pretty much had the tv on and browsed on my phone just checking occasionally to see who the picks were... The whole Shadeur Sanders nonsense really sucked the life out of this draft... I miss when the draft started at noon on Saturday and went all day and continued all day Sunday... But you know the NFL is spread it out and rake in the advertisement and commercial money... I'm surprised they haven't made a week long event out of it yet and did 1 round each day of the week

I wonder if Deion has re-evaluated his position yet. It was a pretty harsh lesson.

Sanders should have gone undrafted after this. It's like Bo Callahan and the $100 dollar bill in the playbook.

We can agree that Sanders is definitely better than a round 5 talent and also admit that MKJ was insufferable. I mostly watched the Philly Special show for rounds 2-3, so they chimed in on the Sanders slide, but they didn't really linger on it much.

I miss the days when Spadaro did his draft live streams. A pure, unadulterated homer perspective... but it was fun and reliable.

It's great that he started the draft coverage ages ago, but things change. He needs to be retired along with Chris Berman, Terry Bradshaw and other ancient guys that should have stopped years ago.

He's always been an a-hole, entitled blowhard who thinks he knows everything despite being proven wrong so much. His rants about Sanders were completely unprofessional, disrespectful to the players actually being drafted that deserve air time and he looked like a giant tool (as usual).

There are other options to watch the draft: NFL Network, ABC and this year I streamed NFL Channel (NFL Network crew with Bubby Brooks) on Peacock. No fluff, no dramatic stories, no blowhards trying to be entertaining or get on a soapbox rant. It shows the picks then goes to highlights of that player and analysis which is what you want.

When I was young the draft all took place on one day. I think it went 22 rounds. The Phila Inquirer sport section the next morning had what they called thumbnail sketches of all the Eagle picks. I would wait for the newspaper delivery guy to throw it in my driveway. Listening for that thud in the early morning hours.

Shedeur Sanders did not go to the Combine or play in the Senior Bowl.

His team interviews went like this...

Team: Let's look at this play and discuss how we can fix it.

Sanders: I don't think I am a good fit for your team. Don't draft me.

Sanders is the Bo Callahan of the NFL.
