@OCEaglefan 's Master of the Draft is a pretty cool feature and was fun to watch even though I got spit out the first round <_<.

I thought it may be interesting to have a similar contest for predicting the depth chart, winner gets a photo of me wearing nothing but fur coolats and holding an armadillo.

I was trying to figure out how this could work and the rules, etc.

Obviously it doesn't make much sense to do it in "rounds" because ultimately the team's official roster will be the final arbiter. I don't believe there's anything prior to opening day that we could go by and there are too many players. Plus there's only one cut date now.

The way I envision it is that each contestant gets 1 point for correctly predicting that a player makes the official, opening day, 53-man roster. You get an additional point for predicting a starter at the correct football position. You get an additional point for predicting the correct dept order for any position with 3 or more players.

So for QB last year if you predicted:

QB1 - Jalen Hurts

QB2 - Kenny Pickett

QB3 - Tanner McKee

you'd earn 5 total points for that position, but if you had Pickett and McKee reversed you'd only get 4, if you had Dame Judi Dench as QB3 you'd only get 3, etc.

Clearly, there will be many tie scores since most of the positions will be obvious, so what I thought would make it interesting is that the oldest post (or edit) will break any ties. You edit your roster as often as you like but your final edit determines the tiebreaker date.

Another thought is that you can "lock" a number of players for additional points? I may come up with a positional weighting system to mitigate everyone locking the obvious players.

Any thoughts or suggestions other than this whole idea is stupid and OP is a bundle of twigs?

No thanks.

Ok, how about this... a pizza place where you make your own pie!

Master of the schedule might be a better idea 🤷🏾‍♂️

The game's afoot!

As I was given proper credit I support this endeavor

What is our deadline on this?

When the Eagles release their official opening day depth chart. Unless anyone has a better idea.

Do the Eagles actually release an official opening day depth chart? Or does their website just guess at something that is unofficial?

That's an excellent question. Maybe my use of the word "official" isn't really correct.

But something will be on the website on gameday - that's the only thing I can think of to go by.

I'll do some digging to make sure because given the first prize in this contest the stakes are high.

Did you say the steaks are high?

Winner gets a cheesesteak. And, you're buying.
