He still didn't get a majority of the votes. 43% isn't all that much. They really should do rank choice voting.

I believe that the primary is ranked choice. (See vikas' previous post in the thread).

Not to worry, his heart goes out to them too!

Interesting. So the results they are showing are only the first round results. Since no candidate received over 50% of the vote they will move to a second round. In the next round it should work as follows...

  • Elimination and Recalculation: The candidate with the fewest votes in a round is eliminated. Voters who ranked that candidate as their first choice then have their votes redistributed to their next choice.

Will that make any difference in the second round? Probably not I'm guessing because Cuomo wouldn't have conceded if he thought it would. However I'm interested to see the 2nd round results.

White educated women tend to vote with feelings and emotions vs thought.

You, on the other hand, vote very methodically based on highly credible information gathered over a large span of time. If there's one thing a trump voter is known for, it's being very well informed on highly complex topics.

that's a long definition for, own the libs.

My centrist dem wife told me after 2024 that the Dems are now going to tact to the left and she will have no party.

Ham-fisted as it was, Dems have been trying to play to the middle during the Trump era. It hasn't worked.

Trump promises unicorns and lollipops and the right laps it up.

She sees Zohran as bad policy but a natural response to what's working right now to win elections: promise everything and don't worry about consequences. And that especially young leftists feel driven to it when the existing Democratic power structure seems unwilling to fight fire with fire.

Yes, but Zohan and another candidate cross endorsed which makes this a bit of a fait accompli.

Who’s that?

At least part of the blame falls on making the moderate candidate Andrew Fing Cuomo. It's not like his sexual assault allegations and COVID shenanigans were that far removed.

I'm curious what would happen if he decides to run in the general election anyway.

No snow and no income tax. Buy a penthouse like Brady and even hurricanes won't be much of an issue.

it's still florida.

He won't - Adams is already running as an independent, and the 2 of them would split the moderate vote.

Somehow, Eric Adams is NYC's only hope.

I would think Adams is still the favorite to win the general no?

I heard on the news this morning that Cuomo was strongly considering running as third party.

When you have that kind of money, it's a different Florida.

And property taxes may be on the ballot in the next election. If those go away, Florida becomes a veritable tax haven.

Yep. There are different levels.

Nope. The commie is ~72% chance to win.

He has set it up so he can, but he would need Adams to drop out or all it does is help the commie.
