Posted July 15Jul 15 Wasn’t sure where to post this but seems like TATE gets the most traffic. Anyway, I had YouTube TV and I only used it during football season. They keep upping the price and I can’t justify keeping it, plus they blocked all YouTube related stuff at work so it’s useless if I can’t watch there too. Basically my question is what would be the best streaming platform to get eagles games? I’m out of market, so maybe I could even pair with a vpn to get the most out of the app. Looking at the NFL+ subscription but reviews seem to be mixed. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance!
July 15Jul 15 I'm glad I saw this thread and was reminded. I got the email last month mentioning the new $522 price but didn't see itOptions are piracy, go to a sports bar, or pay the $522 (which is disgusting)

Wondering if I could get eagles games that way if I used a VPN. Has anyone tried this?

You can watch replays of the games immediately after they conclude and can listen to the radio broadcasts live.
July 16Jul 16 I'm considering DirecTV stream. I too have had Youtube TV and they discount the first couple months but still. Directv stream has Genre packs, MySports is $69.99/month. I'm not clear if there is sales tax on this. It's by the month and carries all the local TV stations plus national cable news stations. B1G, ESPNs, FS1 etc.

My VPN used to work flawlessly, but they have ways of blocking it now. I have Eagles related stuff set to auto record, so they record it for me even though their VPN blocking might make it look like I'm in D.C. or NYC. Hotspot Shield has worked for me at times but I haven't tried it for a while.

YouTube Sunday ticket for new subscribers is still low but if you're a returning customer then it increased significantly Or find a streaming site that's sometimes delayed a few plays. I have a few I use but you need an adblocker

July 17Jul 17 Just a heads up for those looking to stay legal / legit, but also save money, Sunday Ticket does have some discounts if you qualify:Other Options:Student Discount: $199 for the season. Military/First Responder/Nurse/Teacher Discount: $198 for the season.
July 20Jul 20 Do you live in an area that has good access to HD TV signals?I have been lucky the last 9 years to be a yes in that category.I used to pay for Sling Blue and the Sports package but now I just do the antenna and NFL+You will always get Red Zone and see all the prime time and national games. You might miss a few games live but can watch them later on replay (but can see the Red Zone stuff and listen to Merrill)For me this is so much better than trying to find a 500+ dollar solution.

While NFL Sunday Ticket can be added as an add-on to a YouTube TV base plan, it's also available as a standalone subscription through YouTube Primetime Channels. This means you can purchase NFL Sunday Ticket directly through YouTube without needing a YouTube TV subscription.

The website https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/15137773?hl=en was where that statement came from.

I have never purchased a youtube TV subscription but have bought the NFL Sunday Ticket stand alone the last 2 seasons through youtube. Prior to that, I always had to have directv in order to purchase NFL Sunday Ticket. Youtube charges $100 more for people without YoutubeTV, but it was better than the $1200+ a year I was paying for DirecTV on top of Sunday Ticket. This year, Youtube raised its prices by about $130 for Sunday Ticket. Many people, like myself, canceled their recurring subscriptions. I recently received an email (good through Aug 7) to renew now for $96 off the increased price:"Save $96 when you renew now, and get set for the 2025 NFL season.* Keep features like multiview, key plays, and more,* and continue watching every out-of-market Sunday afternoon NFL game for the entire 2025 NFL regular season." Obviously, many people like me that filled out the survey when canceling, cited that the cost increase wasn't competitive with the idea of going to a sports bar or pizza place or realistically better than just turning to less reliable and slightly delayed pirate streams as a solution. Their sales pitch is to "keep features..." The funny thing is, I would not have canceled if they just would have left the price at $350 which is what I paid the first 2 seasons with them. Now, I'm weighing my options. I may just use pirate streams for the games that aren't national. I may buy Sunday Ticket for my brother who qualifies for the discount and just watch the games with him. Since I already have NFL+, I may just listen to Merrill live and then actually watch the games (commercial free) immediately after they end. I have subscribed to Sunday Ticket every year since 2007. I subscribe to watch Eagles games live because I live in an out of market area. In my experience, almost half the Eagles games are either national or shown in my market for one reason or another. So even if I buy Sunday ticket at $350, if it's just for 10 games I otherwise wouldn't get, that's $35 per game. This year, that went up to (at least) $48 per game or $38.50/game if I apply the discount.Sometimes I just like to be treated as a returning customer ---- that just isn't the way these internet / cable / streaming / phone / etc... subscription companies do business.
July 21Jul 21 I live in Spain and get NFL Game Pass. It's about 180 euros a year and get all games, plus red zone, plus other shows like Hard Knocks and A Football Life. It's decent value but it goes through DAZN which isn't very good

I'm thinking about getting the Sunday Ticket (because I'm eligible for the discount) and pairing it up with the NFL+ subscription for the prime time and national games that would be blacked out on Sunday Ticket. I'm thinking this might be the best and cheapest option but I have never used NFL+ before so any feedback about the app would be appreciated.
July 22Jul 22 I got annoyed last year because so many games were on weird platforms like Peacock and not carried on Sunday Ticket, so I did not purchase Sunday Ticket for the first time in a couple of decades. To watch the Eagles games that were not on national TV, I ended up paying for two months of the NFL+ package at $6.99 a month. IIRC, I watch NFL+ on the NFL app on my Roku. You generally cannot watch the games live on NFL+, but they make the broadcast available immediately after the game finishes, and I mean immediately. That worked well for me, because most of the games not on national TV are Sunday morning games (which, being on the West coast, run for me from 10-1). I have a regular golf foursome on Sundays which gets me home in the early-to-mid afternoon, so I would just pop on the game on NFL+ when I got home.I only needed two months because I was able to time it to capture their non-national games in two package months. You get a full month from when you subscribe (so if you subscribe on the 24th of a month, you get through the 23rd the following month), so if you time things right you should only need two months, and maybe even just one month. Here is my watch plan for the upcoming season schedule, in the SF bay area:Wk 1: Sep 4: v DAL, Thurs 8:20 PM (NBC^) - National game (TNF)Wk 2: Sep 14: @KC, Sun 4:25 PM (FOX) - National game -- Fox has the doubleheader and announced this as "America's game of the week"Wk 3: Sep 21: v LAR, Sun 1 PM (FOX) - Fox has the doubleheader and the 49ers play in the afternoon, so this might be on locally. If not, watch at sports bar.Wk 4: Sep 28: @TB, Sun 1 PM (FOX) - NFL+ package (Sep 27-Oct 26)Wk 5: Oct 5: v DEN, Sun 1 PM+ (CBS) - NFL+ package (Sep 27-Oct 26)Wk 6: Oct 9: @NYG, Thurs 8:15 PM (Prime Video^) - National game (TNF) (but on Prime, so nice to also have NFL+ package for Sep 27-Oct 26 to watch any time)Wk 7: Oct 19: @MIN, Sun 1 PM+ (FOX) - NFL+ package (Sep 27-Oct 26)Wk 8: Oct 26: v NYG, Sun 1 PM+ (FOX) - NFL+ package (Sep 27-Oct 26)Wk 9: BYEWk 10: Nov 10: @GB, Mon 8:15 PM (ESPN/ABC^) - National game (MNF)Wk 11: Nov 16: v DET, Sun 8:20 PM+ (NBC^) - National game (SNF)Wk 12: Nov 23: @DAL, Sun 4:25 PM+ (FOX) - National game -- Fox has the doubleheader and announced this as "America's game of the week"Wk 13: Nov 28: v CHI, Fri 3 PM (Prime Video) - National game (Fri game)Wk 14: Dec 8: @LAC, Mon 8:15 PM+ (ESPN/ABC^) - National game (MNF)Wk 15: Dec 14: v LV, Sun 1 PM+ (FOX) - Fox has doubleheader and 49ers play in the afternoon, so this might be on locally. If not, watch at sports bar or 2nd month of NFL+Wk 16: Dec 20: @WAS, Sat, 4:30 PM or 8 PM+ (FOX) - National game (Sat game)Wk 17: Dec 28: @BUF, Sun 4:25 PM+ (FOX) - National game -- Fox has the doubleheader and announced this as "America's game of the week"Wk 18: Jan TBD: v WAS, (Time and Network TBD) - Fox has doubleheader and this might be on locally. If not, watch at sports bar or 2nd month of NFL+If you are one of those people that have to watch the games truly live, NFL+ may not be your cup of tea, but if not, it is something to consider. The Eagles will be on an extraordinary number of national games so paying full board for Sunday Ticket for Eagles games just does not make a lot of economic sense.
July 22Jul 22 I'm trying to find a way to get local (Eagles) games without cable. I'm in a townhouse that faces west and all the OTA stations are to the east, so I can not get anything with an OTA antenna. I'd really like to ditch cable, but I really don't know how to get the in market local games without it.

If not, watch at sports bar or 2nd month of NFL+I still think President Trump may use an Executive Order to block the games on 12/20 from being played that day due to that being the weekend of the first round of the College Football Playoff so he can say he "protected the college football playoff by barring the NFL from playing that day." Trump's now-almost 45 year vendetta that dates back to his attempt to buy the then-Baltimore Colts in 1981 also would play into such if he did it. If that happened, those games would be Sunday 12/21 and the NFL would be scrambling to give FOX a doubleheader on Friday 12/26 at most likely 5:30 and 9:00 PM with Eagles-Bills in that scenario moved to the 9:00 PM Friday slot.Week 18 can actually be Saturday or Sunday. If Saturday, it would be on ESPN and ABC.
