They have to cheat to win.

The ball is in MAGA's court. They wouldn't be pulling this ish unless their internal polls were in the toilet.

I agree that it is a Fd situation, but if MAGA starts doing it, Dem states need to pull out all the stops to counter it.

Dems have done it forever or they would be a permanent minority in the House

What I’ve learned about the subject is that it’s really bad when the other side does it. When my side does it, it’s okay.

You have nothing to say to try to defend your assertions after they were fully debunked?

I see the hypocritical leftists here are crying because the Republicans are late in the game in gerrymandering. Rules for thee but not for me, right? The real reason why you pathetic leftist losers are crying so hard is because without gerrymandering in Democratic states, your party is sunk and you know it. Republicans finally woke up and correctly decided that what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Truth is that most blue states are so heavily gerrymandered already, that there's little room for any additional D seats to be created. Cry harder.

@Procus and MAGA is upset that Colorado, a blue state, has 50% Republican House representation. roll

They weren't debunked numbnuts.

You have a number of southern states that are close to 50/50 D/R that routinely send delegations consisting of 70-80% Republicans to Congress.

States like Arizona, California, and New York have taken active steps to combat gerrymandering in the last 20 years by taking the redrawing of district maps out of the hands of politicians. Maryland's gerrymander has been eliminated. The only significant gerrymander that advantages Dems at this stage is in Illinois.

Now that the most populous blue states have tied their hands with regards to gerrymandering, Trump is telling states like Texas to turn it up to 11.

You're a fraud and your party is corrupt and power hungry. Own it.

but teh demzzzz…

I didn't make any assertions Ace as I hadn't done the homework and hadn't read any articles by people who had run the numbers. However, other posters in here did run the numbers OR read articles where others had presented the numbers. Those completely trashed your assertions.

btw - Stephen Miller throwing his usual pack of lies with heavy bravado isn't fooling anyone in here (except you).

BS.

Michigan has an independent commission made up of citizens not politicians that draws its maps, and its current delegation has 7 Republicans and 6 Democrats.

https://www.fairdistrictspa.com/updates/lessons-from-michigans-successful-independent-redistricting-commission

https://campaignlegal.org/update/michigan-irc-makes-redistricting-process-fairer-and-more-transparent

New Jersey's map was approved by a bi-partisan commission 9-2, with one D and one R each voting against.

https://newjerseymonitor.com/2022/02/18/democrats-gop-agree-on-new-legislative-map-for-n-j/

Nevada is Las Vegas and then a bunch of desert, with one firm R+7 Republican district and three other competitive districts that are D+1, D+2, and D+2.

Illinois is the only remaining gerrymander advantaging the Dems.

but it was a nice cartoon.

Texas is already gerrymandered. It has two of the worst gerrymandered districts in the nation. They want to gerrymander it more.

Why should I look at the actual data through a critical lens when I can have Stephen Miller tell me through a Gunther Eagleman tweet what I should really think???

I’m sure there are memes and political cartoons that also contradict all of the available data that you could show me too- I think I’ll just look at reality and make my own decisions.

Yes im sure illinois and new York have no red in all those rural Counties. Get past the denial

Now the GOP is far more effective ar executing a strategy, like Targeting governor races in the recent past

Illinois is absolutely gerrymandered.

New York is not. Most of the state's population is in the NYC metro area, and most of the rest is in Rochester and Buffalo. Long Island has two Republican reps

20 years ago, even 10 years ago, gerrymandering was somewhat more even between the parties. But gerrymanders in blue states have largely been eliminated through reforms and legal challenges. Only Illinois remains.

Republicans are trying to exploit this now.

Wait you mean a pendulum swings back and forth now??

That would suggest there was a period where Republicans didn't gerrymander.

The map, especially in the Senate, has long given Republicans a natural advantage.
