Episode 2 was better than episode 1, which is good because episode 1 was pretty bad. The writing, editing and acting screamed straight to video rip off. Those were not much better in ep 2, but the action was, and some of the new aliens they’ve introduced are pretty badass. Hope it keeps getting better.

I don't see what the hype is about. Serious immersion problems.

I finally got around to Romulus so this is next on my list.

It's not bad... The original Alien is my favorite movie all time... Theres some good some bad... I'm looking forward to seeing more of the other creatures and what they do... I have a theory about what might happen later in the series I'll put it in spoiler tags

Assuming alien earth is canon to the original movies we know weyland yutani is the main corporation... My guess is at some point we find out morrow becomes ash... I think the aliens in the show will be lost and it explains how weyland yutani knew about them and sent the nostromo to the signal on lv426... Morrow states he wants to recover the specimens it is his lifes work... He's also curious about the children synthetics and said like what it would be to be a robot... Assuming he would prefer to be a synthetic and he discovers prodigy has the capability to transfer human consciousness into a synthetic body he becomes one himself... Yes currently only children can but I'm guessing this happens... We also know in the original Alien ash was assigned to the nostromo at the last minute... I'm betting this was the lady he spoke with and told he wants to recover the specimens and this gives him an opportunity to finish his job...

In my opinion if Boy Cavalier ends up being the true villain of the show a fitting end for him would be he becomes a synthetic and effectively immortal and becomes trapped or imprisoned somehow by himself and can no longer have a conversation with anyone let alone the intelligent conversation he craves... Like being buried alive for eternity... Energy for the the synthetics is the question though

That scene in episode 4 with the sheep was BRUTAL... You knew exactly what was going to happen and that was still wild... The show isn't great but it's gotten better... I have my gripes with some of the stuff but I am looking forward to the next episode I think we find out what happens on the maginot...

The tension is definitely growing as they're continuing to develop the storyline and the characters, I just think that a couple of the problems with the show so far are the casting (the actor playing the brother just doesn't fit) and the immature androids. I get the idea that they downloaded kids minds into the adult bodies, so the actors are trying to act like children, it just seems too silly at times. All that said, I'm looking more and more forward to each new episode.

What a ****ty ending

This show is the opposite of Last of Us s1. Last of Us the character dynamic was enough to hold you through some bad monster action. This one the monsters are the stars and the characters suck(except Kirsch and Marrow) . I'd prolly watch s2 , but if they don't renew I wouldn't care. The whole Peter pan/Lost boys thing is so lame and overdone.

PS. also in common, a mid season stand alone was easily the best episode.

My 2 other complaints:

1) unlike the movies, this had a real "skinny guy in a rubber suit” feel to the alien. Even with some really terrible Alien movies, they always did a great job. Either they showed just enough (Alien), really nailed full view of the alien through limited movement (Aliens - neat attack\in the ceiling attacking the lab) and groundbreaking puppetry (Aliens — the queen), or just go full CGI (Alien 3). Alien Jazz Hands from the OG, you have been dethroned.

2) They took some liberties that completely fly in the face of every movie that came before. And I’m saying this given the existence of Prometheus.

First, the first Alien from the ship was slaughtering rooms full of people in the blink of an eye like a f’n ninja. No. In non hive situations they operate with stealth. They try to capture first if possible. Even in the original there was a deleted scene where Ripley discovers Kane and Brett have been cocooned (turning into eggs). The species is a parasite and parasites never go in for the kill immediately.

Then second one communicating with Wendy? F off. Even if we are going to treat them like birds and have them imprint on the first person they see, that again goes against their nature. They are hive creature who is led by a queen. But often the drones operate alone until they establish one since that’s what the average egg produces. (Yeah, I’m pulling from some of the Dark Horse Novels from the early 90s here. One of them even had a situation where a foreign queen influence already established hives).
