Donald Trump wants to give you COVID

Recommended Posts

Yes. You read that correctly.

Health officials are alarmed as a pandemic adviser reportedly pushes the White House to adopt Sweden's controversial herd immunity strategy. Neuroradiologist Scott Atlas, a top medical adviser to President Trump, has reportedly urged the White House to implement a pandemic strategy of trying to protect vulnerable groups while letting COVID-19 spread through most of the country so that healthy people can build up immunity to the virus, modeling the way Sweden has responded to the coronavirus crisis. Atlas, who reportedly meets with Trump nearly every day, doesn't have a background in infectious diseases or epidemiology. Health experts are highly concerned about herd immunity being discussed by the White House, because by some estimates, it may require 2.13 million U.S. deaths to reach a 65 percent threshold of immunity.

So crackpot who  has no background in infectious diseases or epidemiology wants the government to intentionally infect us all. Hopefully in time for the election.  Grandma must die for Trump's re-election. Brought to you by the party of "pro life".

Kind of misleading title considering nowhere does it say that Trump wants to do this.  If he has multiple advisors and they disagree about a subject, does that mean that Trump both supports and is against that item?

Generally I'd agree, but if it's true he's meeting with Trump daily then he might be currently in favor.

The case of reinfection out of HK put the nail in the coffin of natural herd immunity. Immunity will only be achievable through vaccination.

It's what the Demz want... why CNN has been the "Covid News Network" since the pandemic arrived.
Up until being forced to address the crime issue by (un)popular opinion, covid was all they had.

Even CNN'S daily corona count shows the global death rate at 1 in 30 of the infected, while the US rate is 10% better at 1 in 33,
yet they continue claiming the US is performing the worst of all countries.

Now do the same with deaths / population. Saving very slightly more of those infected but letting it spread like wildfire isn’t something to celebrate

What was that stat recently, we have 4% of the worlds population and 10% of the worlds deaths?

because our deaths keep piling up while other nations have slowed to near zero.

Nothing is "made up" here. We have handled this very poorly because some states are following Trump's lead by sticking their heads in the sand.

Tell that to Herman Cain!

I don’t think I can tell him that one of Trump’s advisors thoughts doesn’t mean Trump has the same thought.  Trump very well may believe it the herd immunity thing, but nowhere in your post did Trump say he wants to give you Covid.

WTF dude? Every other country on that chart has higher rates than the US. Which proves you ignore the facts and declare nonsense!
In case you're color challenged, that's Spain at the top and the US on the bottom.

Yeah no ish dude. I specifically picked the nations that had the worst outbreaks of COVID-19. All of their deaths are concentrated near the beginning of the outbreaks.

Look at their lines now. They're flat. They're not getting a large number of new deaths.

Meanwhile the US keeps climbing with no sign of ebbing/flattening. We do not have control of it. We will very soon pass these worst hit nations and - unless something changes - continue right past.

We were in a position where we could have been largely unscathed by this. It hit Asia and Europe before it got here. But no, we had to squander our natural advantage.

The rates have been fluctuating all over the world. Even countries in Central Europe are closing their borders left and right, banning travel from various nations on the continent.

If you think it'll be any different under Biden, guess again. People are refusing to wear masks, 35% have declared they won't get a vaccine even after it's gone through phase 3 testing, and college students are holding big parties without masks or distancing which is contributing to the rise. You can't outlaw stupidity.

I'm not even a Trump supporter. I just see dirty politics on both sides. And using covid as the big club to knock down the door to the white house doesn't do it for me.

Well I’d say it’s probably closer to the truth than "Joe Biden wants to eliminate the suburbs”. Yes folks, the irony here is that Gannan from the EMB is being held to a much higher standard than the president of the United States.
