2026 Salary Cap Expected to Be $301.2 - $305.7M

Featured Replies

Pelissero is reporting that the league expects the salary cap to be between $301.2M and $305.7M for the new league year. It was $279.2M in 2025 so this is a pretty big jump once again. Obviously it gives all teams more room to work with but for teams like ours where we are a bit up against the cap it will most definitely help even more to be able to re-sign our own impending FAs that we wish to retain and also have some maneuverability in free agency.

On topic but also off topic... Will we see 70M contracts for QBs this season or next season?

Love that Dallas is $31M over! But damn man, Seattle with $75M in cap space??

Seahawks chargers and to a lesser extent the rams look to be in great shape with good teams and plenty of capspace.

Assuming Stafford returns. If he doesn't, the Rams are a mid team once again.

And I’m sure Pickens will want a huge contract.

$10 million to Howie is like $40 million to any other team. Let’s see him work his magic.

Correct and we have some moves to make to get a decent amount more… I think cutting Carter 3 saves around 8 million and extending Davis can save around 9 million… not to mention Goedert has a dead cap hit of 20 million this year that I think they could push some of it down the road by giving him a new contract.

Overthe cap shows the Eagles with $18M - $13M after signing their draft class.

That makes things very tight and it looks alot like last year where we saw our own free agent guys leaving and not being able to make a splash of our own in free agency.

Looks like we can sign one or the other of Phillips or Goedert. After that it will still be hard to keep Blankenship and there's almost no chance Nakobe Dean can come back.

Mann and Big Fren moght be in the mix.

Cutting Michael Carter III would help. It would save $8M of cap space and there's no way he's earned the $10M he's on the books for in 2026.

Seattle, if they play it straight, could be a beast to deal with over the next few years. 😆😆

Could be, but I don’t know their FA situation and they’ll need to save some money to sign JSN to a long term deal.

Yeah good point.

But, our problem is that we will soon need to sign 3-5 Defensive players. Ugh. That will take away any $ to sign Goedert and any FA's that we would want to bring in.

I trust in Howie, however, he can't re-sign every one we want him to. See Sweat and Milton and CJGJ. 🙃

Yeah, I hope he can keep the core defensive players together. I’d love to see them sign Ojomo before he prices himself out of Philly like Milton Williams did. But you have to keep Carter, DeJean and Q.

Yeah they need to get a deal done with Ojomo who I saw projected cap number jumps to 3 million and something this year in the last year of his contract..

The Raiders job is attractive for Klint Kubiak. #1 pick to draft Fernando and almost $90 million in cap space. They have alot of holes, but with some good drafts and well placed $$ for free agents, that could work out well.

That’s poor cap management by KC right? I mean I wouldn’t say that’s a stacked roster full of talent? So where are they investing so much?

When half of your cap ($150m) goes on just 3 players, you know something ain’t right!

Seeing the Cowboys STILL in the red is absolutely hilarious

We gotta sign Coop, JD, JC, Q, and Moro, yes?

The Safety position concerns me as well. Reed and Epps need to come back. IMO.

Here's a completely different view - take the middle of the prediction, that's $303M not including player benefits like healthcare, pension, and a host of other goodies to long to list. Those benefits probably = 25% of salaries or $76M , for a total player share of $379M

Players get 48% of the gross which when calculated out = an average total take of $783M per team.

Owners share = $404M (52% or $783M less $379M) plus the money that doesn't get inlcuded in the players share like superboxes, some sponsorships, etc. which isn't inlcuded in any of these calculations.

Coaches, travel, medical staff, front office, field, equipment, computers and office equipment, scouting etc = $100-$150M so lets call it thehigh number of $150M. That means the owner's actuual profit is somewhere close to $250,000,000 per year.

No wonder teams are selling for billions.

Yeah some teams have a huge amount of money but keep in mind teams like Seattle will have to keep his own free agents this year or the next two years so they cannot allow themself to overpay this year in free agency
