The nature of the business is that Super Bowl winners have to overpay to keep their own and probably get a bit of a break when signing from outside. Unfortunately, perceived player value increases when thier team wins the Super Bowl I think that's how mant clubs make mistakes, but it's good for the players and as a tangent helps even out competitive advantage by over-stripping Super Bowl winning teams. Case in point - the 2025 Eagles off-season.

You know if the NFL really wants to level the playing field and have more player movement they should eliminate cap penalties. Dead cap is just silly. Teams shouldn’t be forced to pay on paper players who are no longer on their team. It would encourage more trades in my opinion. They also might not need to constantly raise the cap number as much as they do. That’s my opinion, because these dead cap situations can really force teams to move on from great players due to guys who aren’t even on their team roster. Just make a compliment hard cap and force all teams to be within a certain number of that cap to be considered camp compliment every year. A trade shouldn’t penalize the team that wants to move on from a player or a player shouldn’t be forced to stay with a team they don’t wish to be a part of due to a cap hit.
