First off, wanted to shout out Rob331 for crunching the numbers in his late February mock to squeeze out as much cap space as possible. That framework is used to set the stage here with projected signings.

Cut:

CB Michael Carter II

Extend:

DT Jordan Davis

Restructure:

OG Tyler Steen

DT Moro Ojomo

Re-sign:

DE Jaelan Phillips

DE Brandon Graham

TE Dallas Goedert

TE Kylen Granson

OT Fred Johnson

S Marcus Epps

P Braden Mann

Notable departures:

LB Nakobe Dean

S Reed Blankenship

CB Adoree Jackson

DE Josh Uche

WR Jahan Dotson

RB AJ Dillon

TE Grant Calcaterra

Free agency:

CB Tariq Woolen - Woolen is coming off a down year, where the emergence of former Eagle Josh Jobe had reduced his playing time with the Seahawks. He still has the combination of size and athleticism to potentially thrive again as an outside CB in Vic Fangio’s defense. Of note, Woolen’s 2022 Pro Bowl rookie season in which he led the league in INTs was under our current DL coach Clint Hurtt, when he was the Seahawks DC.

QB Teddy Bridgewater - Bridgewater comes in on a 1 year veteran minimum deal given his familiarity with former Bucs OC turned Eagles pass game coordinator Josh Grizzard to serve as a backup behind Hurts. As a bonus, his coaching experience taking his alma mater HS to a state title can certainly help add valuable input to a young offensive coaching staff.

WR Sterling Shepard - Shepard is the odd man out in Tampa with the emergence of Emeka Egbuka and Tez Johnson. He also follows his former OC to Philly to compete for the WR3 spot with Jahan Dotson leaving in free agency.

Trade:

23rd overall pick and QB Tanner McKee to the New York Jets for 16th overall pick - The Jets take a chance on McKee as a potential starter and the Eagles extract value from their former 6th round pick on the last year of his rookie deal. The difference between the 23rd overall pick and 16th overall pick on the draft pick value chart is the equivalent of an early 3rd round pick, 70th overall, which is a solid return on investment for McKee and allows the Eagles to move up in the first round without sacrificing any of their own 3rd round picks.

Draft

Rnd 1 (16) Kenyon Sadiq TE Oregon - The Eagles haven’t drafted a TE in the 1st round since 1988, but Howie surprises us by moving up in the draft for the top TE in the draft class, a year after surprising us by taking a LB in the first round. I anticipate seeing more 2 TE sets with the new offense, in which Sadiq can contribute as a rookie right away, if not outright beating Goedert for the TE1 spot. With his Combine performance, Sadiq solidified his draft stock as a top 20 pick after running a 4.39 40-time. Despite being a bit undersized for a TE, Sadiq is a formidable blocker.

Rnd 2 (54) Max Iheanachor OT Arizona State - With the Eagles offense expected to shift towards a zone blocking scheme under the new coaching staff, they select an athletic OT prospect who can be the heir apparent to Lane Johnson. Iheanachor, whom the Eagles met with at the Combine, is a bit of a raw prospect, originally from Nigeria, with a basketball and soccer background before picking up football in the US. He allowed zero sacks in 2025 for Arizona State as their RT on 484 pass blocking reps.

Rnd 3 (68) Malik Muhammad CB Texas - Muhammad is adept in zone coverage and is also a well rounded prospect who can play both on the outside and in the slot; the main knock on him is his slight frame, as he’s 6’0 and 182 lbs. He will need to bulk up before he can hold his own against more physical WRs in the league and can back up Woolen as a rookie

Rnd 3 (98) Genesis Smith S Arizona - With Reed Blankenship walking in free agency, the Eagles invest another early pick on a safety. Smith has great size at 6’2 and 204 lbs and has versatility playing both safety positions and nickel CB; the main knock on him though is consistency with tackling technique.

Rnd 4 (122) Deion Burks WR Oklahoma - With Jahan Dotson walking in free agency, the WR3 spot is up for grabs. Burks met with the Eagles at the Combine. He is a bit undersized to line up at outside WR at 5’9 but he can fill the role of slot receiver with his route running ability and speed to create separation. He also offers positional versatility as a returner as well.

Rnd 4 (137) - Cade Klubnik QB Clemson - With Tanner McKee traded, the Eagles draft another QB to add to the QB factory to develop behind Hurts. Klubnik has demonstrated success in an offense that incorporated a fair amount of play action and RPO concepts and should be able to smoothly transition to the new offense the Eagles plan on running.

Rnd 5 (151) - Wesley Williams DE Duke - The Eagles met with Williams at the Combine; he has positional versatility to line up as an edge rusher but move inside on passing downs, and defends well against the run; the main knock on Williams is his short arm length and limited athleticism, relying more on brute strength, but has the upside to contribute as a rotational DE.

Rnd 5 (179) - Jack Kelly LB BYU - The Eagles met with Kelly at the Combine and at the Senior Bowl, reportedly telling him they see him as a WILL linebacker with the ability to drop into coverage. Even with Jihaad Campbell expected to replace Nakobe Dean as a starter, there is still a need for depth at LB.

UDFA:

Fred Davis II CB Northwestern - At 6'0 and 200 lbs, Davis has decent size for an outside CB, but needs to work on his tackling abilities. The Eagles met with him during the Hula Bowl and Senior Bowl.

Max Bredeson FB Michigan - At 6'2 and 252 lbs, Bredeson takes over the big back role that is vacated with AJ Dillon leaving in free agency. The Eagles met with Bredeson during the East-West Shrine Bowl.

Michael Heldman DE Central Michigan - The Eagles met Heldman at the Hula Bowl. Heldman had 10.5 sacks this past season for CMU and adds more depth at EDGE to help offset some of their losses in free agency.

Will Ferrin K BYU - Ferrin, who was a transfer from Boise State, was perfect on extra points and 4/6 on FG over 50 yards this past season, with a career long of 56 yards. Ferrin handled kickoff duties for BYU as well and has experience in short and directional kicks to exploit weaknesses in the coverage team.

Wow! You knocked this one out of the park!

I don’t think you can restructure rookie contracts (Steen and Ojomo). Only thing you can do there is offer them a new contract.

Other than that…awesome mock!

Good job! 👊🏼

Send your resume to Howie, nice off season!

Great work. I was planning on throwing in some Seattle Hurtt connection on my next mock but you beat me to it! Also nice job on the Grizzard connection it’s one of the reasons I think depending on what happens we could be a dark horse to sign Mike Evans.

I like the trade up and I could even be happy with the player but dang I would love a trade up like that for say Downs who could fall some with recent injury news

I like it - thanks.

Even with your cuts and restructures I think you re-sign lit and FA's is a little bit heavy. Spotrac has Wollen at $8+M and Spotrac is traditionally light on their estimates.

I'd also rather resign Howell and we need to add a 3rd QB even if it's an UDFA

Love your thinking - thanks again.

Thank you guys for the feedback.

Certainly a few things to consider here to make the scenario more realistic in the next version. Looking at this mock again, I agree that we probably will not be able to re-sign all of these players, especially if additional cap room cannot be generated by restructuring rookie deals. May have to incorporate more UDFA signings or trade downs in the draft to fill the roster.

I am certainly intrigued by the different possibilities at pick 16 with a move up from 23, and there is a decent chance that someone other than Kenyon Sadiq ends up being the BPA at that juncture.

Regarding the QB situation I do agree with having 3 on the roster, in this mock it would be Hurts, Bridgewater, and Klubnik.
