With free agency in full swing, the Eagles have seen a fair number of their free agents sign with other teams, but have recently been able to mitigate some of these losses by signing free agents to 1 year/short term deals to give themselves more flexibility with the draft.

Pre-draft trade: 68th overall pick to the Arizona Cardinals for Josh Sweat - I have to give credit to leftcoastnest for posting the Josh Sweat trade idea first, but it does maks sense from a need, value, and familiarity standpoint. I don't see Howie paying any more than a 3rd round pick for Sweat and while I would have rather the Eagles move the 98th or a later pick instead, pass rushers do come at a premium and some people may argue that the 68th overall pick is not enough.

Round 1 (23) Blake Miller OT Clemson - The Eagles need to find a successor to Lane Johnson at RT and Miller fits the athletic profile that the team needs for a zone blocking scheme. Miller is an experienced RT with 54 career starts at Clemson. Per NFL.com's NextGen stats, Miller graded out with the highest athleticism score of all the OT at the Combine this year. He can stand to benefit from some refinement in his technique, learning behind Lane Johnson before taking over the starting RT spot in the future

Round 2 (54) A.J. Haulcy S LSU - Last year's second round pick Andrew Mukuba showed promise as a rookie before his season was derailed by injury, but there is now an opening at the other safety position with Reed Blankenship gone in free agency. Haulcy has decent size for a safety at 6'0 and 220 lbs and is a ballhawk, recording 8 INTs over the past two years. The main concerns with Haulcy are below average recovery speed and short arms which lead to inconsistency with tackling, but otherwise an instinctive player who should push to start as a rookie with his playmaking abilities.

Round 3 (98) Deion Burks WR Oklahoma - Although the Eagles brought in another former Sooner in Marquise "Hollywood" Brown in free agency to be the WR3 (or perhaps WR2 after a future A.J. Brown trade), the contract is only a 1-year deal. Burks has the upside to be the long-term answer at WR3, regardless of what happens with the Browns on our roster.

Round 4 (122) Oscar Delp TE Georgia - While bringing back Dallas Goedert is a boon to our red zone offense in the short term, it is time to look for potential successors in the draft, since Grant Calcaterra has not shown that he could be the go-to guy at TE when given his opportunities whenever Goedert was out with injuries the past few years. Delp is a decent blocker and has 3 down starter potential.

Round 4 (137) Domani Jackson CB Alabama - Tariq Woolen was the big free agent signing for the Eagles on defense, albeit on a 1-year contract. Further depth is still needed at CB as Kelee Ringo struggled in relief of Adoree Jackson whenever he got hurt. Jackson has the size profile to play outside CB, but needs to work on his hand technique to avoid DPI penalties from being too grabby.

Round 5 (153) Taylen Green QB Arkansas - With the Eagles trading for Andy Dalton, it seems that the possibility of a Tanner McKee is becoming more likely. Howie is patiently playing the long game to see how he can maximize the return on his prior investment if someone gets hurt in training camp, etc.. Anticipating that McKee gets moved sooner rather than later, the team goes with a dual-threat QB in Green to back up Hurts as Andy Dalton is 38 years old and not a long-term solution.

Round 5 (178) Bryce Boettcher LB Oregon - Since Nakobe Dean is now a Raider, there is a need for additional depth at LB, even with Jihaad Campbell expected to take a leap forward in year 2 as a full time starter. Boettcher is a solid defender against the run, with decent coverage abilities, the main knock on him is that he is relatively new to the LB position with only 3 yrs of experience and is not much of a pass rusher

Round 6 (215) Trey Smack K Florida - Jake Elliott has become less consistent as of late, and that had continued into this year's playoffs, so it's time to look for a replacement. Smack was 18/22 on FG this year, with over 80% FG percentage over his career, 50% of his attempts from at least 40 yards, with career long of 56 yards, going 5/6 from 50+ yards this past season.

Post-draft trade: A.J. Brown to the Patriots for 2027 1st round pick, 2027 2nd round pick, and WR Kayshon Boutte - In my previous mocks, I did not project an A.J. Brown trade but the recent trade of Jaylen Waddle to the Broncos helps the Eagles case to stay firm in their asking price. The Patriots initially hesitate but eventually acquiesce in an effort to go "all-in" on Drake Maye. They signed Romeo Doubs in free agency and make their splash trade for A.J. Brown to give them a legit WR1-WR2 combo. Boutte is on an expiring deal and would be a serviceable WR2 for the Eagles while Devonta Smith and Hollywood Brown serve as the WR1 and slot WR respectively. Personally I would have liked to keep AJ Brown on the roster, but don't think Howie turns down this trade package if the Patriots offer it.

Domani Jackson is Kelee Ringo ll. Id pass on him. Treydan Stukes, Tacario Davis, Malik Muhammad, Hezekiah Masses & Julian Neal could all be on the board there. 68 is to high for Sweat I'm offering a 4 th or 5th. Like the rest of the draft Deion Burks speed & play making from the 3rd wr FINALLY!

Devote Smith, Kayshon Boutte, Burks/Brown & Cooper not bad.

Thanks for the read. I appreciate the narrative and rationale about the moves.

The Smack pick was overcome by events as the re-doing and guaranteeing Elliotts deal was done today.

Round 3, Burks - I'd much prefer a bigger receiver particularly on a squad without AJ Brown. Brazzell and Bell would be my targets.

My mid-round corner - Daylen Everett, Georgia

I do think an interior ofensibe lineman would still be a need.

Not a chance in hell ARI gives up Sweat for anything less than a mid 3rd...

Malik Muhammad and Tecario Davis projected to be taken in round 2-3...

Interestingly enough, I had Malik Muhammad to the Eagles in my previous mock, but had projected him with the Eagles 68th overall pick and don't think he falls to 137. Most of the other CBs you have mentioned are likely 3rd round - early 4th round picks in my opinion, although it is certainly possible that one of them falls to 137 if there's a run on other positions. Losing AJ Brown certainly hurts, but that WR group above should be good enough when paired with a revamped running game.

Yes, things definitely changed quickly regarding Elliott, so that pick would have to be modified (perhaps an IOL?). Reasonable to consider a bigger bodied WR. I do like Everett but expect him to be gone by the 3rd round.
