I am curious what the board thinks about his resigning.
Usually, the Eagles know when to move on, but.......

I'm fine with it as it freed up more cap space and I hope they at least bring in some competition

The thread title.......???

Nope

They re-structured his contract, but, from what I saw, it only freed up like $300k?

I assume he will be on the team. But they better bring in some competition.

Hes been money for us more often than not... however... having said that, there's nothing wrong with some competition. force him to look over his shoulder and realize his job isn't secure.

I fixed it, ty. It was supposed to say DO, not GO. 🤭

I know. I was just messing with ya. 😜

No - should have drafted someone last year.

He should have been given competition. But, if they drafted someone, Jake would probably still win that competition. Jake lost games for them, and he can't KO deep, or hit fgs over 50 with any regularity.

He’s been a great Eagle for a long time but now he can’t be trusted to make a 40 yarder.

It’s time to move on.

The Eagles are wrong not to consider his last two seasons production. They should at least bring some competition. If they do not do this they will take the risk to be burn by his foot. That's Howie downfall. Sometimes he wait too long

No

I'm 99% sure they are going to bring in another K this offseason to push him. If over the summer Elliott is grossly outplayed they can cut him with only a $4.7M dead money hit to the 2026 cap (or if they trade him that number drops to $3.4M). So I don't think he is guaranteed anything.

I don’t get the move to restructure his deal to be honest. They need to bring in a K to compete with Elliott and honestly I think that K should have been given the upper hand. Elliott has been a great player for us and he’s an Eagles legend… But he’s become a liability! And in the NFL now the K is such a weapon.

Yep- the ball is different now, and we are seeing 58- 63 yarder's looking like "normal" kicks for a lot of guys. I thought they would bring in a strong legged college guy to compete. I doubt it, though.

We're 2 weeks into the offseason ... plenty of time to add someone to compete with Jake still. And we're not going to add a "college guy" until the draft (or shortly thereafter as an UDFA).

No - two bad years in a row is quite enough.

I just don’t get the restructuring. There was no need and it’s essentially tied them in to him. Sure there’s I guess some kind of logic to showing commitment and loyalty and the value that has? But to me it seems foolish. Elliott has struggled the last couple of years it’s not like it’s just been a short period.

Ok ok.

I kicked in Middle School, High School, and in College (Ohio State. I was an All-American) groovy

I will try out for the Eagles, and bring some competition for Jake in Training Camp.. I'm 54 years old, so, I can probably make a 27 yard FG.

The next Papale!

He's been a great Eagle.

I trust him, but then I don't. 🧐🧐

No.

I’m surprised everyone wants Hurts back and not Elliott. At this point in their careers, both fare well under pressure in the biggest stage but aren’t really that good at doing what they do relative to their peers.

At the moment, which guy is easier to replace?
