Imo, OT has got to be the pick. I'm not sure I would love Max or Miller at 23. I think Proctor would be the BPA among the 3. Would love if Freeling fell

Howie will trade up. Good thing he'll have a year to learn behind Lane if he does

Still seems like a steep price for a project, but he’s seem like the best combination of physical talent of that group.

This really isn't the best OT draft class. There are some that seems to have decent potential but no real top talents. Or am I wrong?

Freeling legit might be going top 10 at this point, and it's extremely unlikely he falls out of the top 15 so it would have to be a big trade up. They just need to be open to one of a few positions (OT, Edge, S, WR) and take the BPA when they pick at 23, or pounce on someone that falls with a slight trade up. Howie and Nick's comments about safety along with the Siri/Q connection really has me wondering if EMW is a legit target for them.

You are not wrong. Not a great year to need to draft an OT.

You are right, the saving grace in our situation is that these guys don’t need to start right away so you can hope/trust that our OL/strength coaching can get them where they need to be by next season and that they’ll only be needed for spot duty this season.

The temptation is to kick the can again, but we might be looking at similar options next year but with no runway to work with. Unfortunately, offensive tackles are nearly impossible to procure through free agency and very few in the draft have the complete physical toolbox (let alone the experience, skill, technique, etc., required to cope with professional defensive lineman).

None of these

Knowing that I almost think taking someone like Iheanachor makes quite a bit of sense if those doing the scouting think he truly has special potential but is a bit too raw and in need of development before hitting the field. I'm torn.

These guys are really close imo, so they might stack based on character, how they take to coaching, drive to improve, etc. which puts us in the blind.

OLine.

I don't know enough about College football to choose an actual player though,

We’re trading up for Downs

Who is that? Pardon my College Football ignorance.

If we're trading up for anyone, its gotta be Ioane. He's not dropping past the chargers.

There should be a trade down scenario. I would do that with those players available. And grab either Iheanachor or EMW if the trade down isn't too far.

I agree - not sure any of those guys are worth it.

Who are teams trading up to get?

MAYBE if he makes it to 23, but I seriously doubt they would trade up for a guard.

Not sure if Vega would be playing to his strengths in an OZ scheme - I’d rather go Rutledge later or one of the lighter/nimbler guys who might be available early-Day 3.
