Posted April 10Apr 10 Let’s get the most obvious out of the way. AJ won’t be on the roster at the start of the season. Too much smoke, too many rumors. Part of me thinks there is a chance he’s going to be moved on draft night. Why?! Well…If the Patriots don’t want to give up a first for next year but are open to offer a 2nd in 2027, why not give the Eagles the 31st pick this year?! It basically holds the same value as an early 2nd round pick, right?! But for the sake of the argument and to make this mock not too complex, let’s say they move him past June 1 for say…a 2nd and 3rd in 2027 and WR Kayshon Boutte?! I just don’t believe the Cheatriots are willing to give up a 1st next year and will stick to that.In this scenario I’m not gonna force an offensive lineman or wide receiver in the first no matter all the Omar Cooper Jr., Jordan Tyson and Denzel Boston rumbling (although they might be legit). As you may have noticed Eagles have shown a ton of interest in both first and mid round tackles and receivers. 25 % of their pre draft visits they spend on offensive linemen. Telling, right?!My guess is that they want an OT who isn’t necessary pro ready day 1 but has the size, athletisism and tools to step in in case of an emergency. Someone who’ll sit behind Lane watching and learning for one or two years.Do you take someone like that on day 1 or would you rather wait until day 3 to take that guy and address another need in the first?!Ohhh, almost forgot! I do think Eagles deal Tanner McKee somewhere down the line for a 2027 mid round pick in case you were wondering. Here goes;Draft;Trade alert!Eagles trade pick no.23 and no.114 to the Carolina Panthers for pick no.19.1 Keldrik Faulk, Edge, Auburn;2 Treydan Stukes, DB, Arizona3 Gennings Dunker, OG, Iowa;3 De'Zhaun Stribling, WR, Ole Miss;4 Markell Bell, OT, Miami;5 Nate Boerkircher, TE, Texas A&M;5 Andre Fuller, CB, Toledo;6 Carson Beck, QB, Miami.

I’d take a high end WR prospect in the 2nd a safety in 4th. Need to have multiple talented WRs in the league these days.
April 10Apr 10 Thanks. Nice to see new names. I'll tryt that in my posting today. Not too excited agout the AJ trade - no help this year and less value than expected.

He’d be the No.2 or 3 guy from the start, depending how you view Hollywood Brown, so you won’t have to force a rookie receiver. Then again; if the rookie wins the job fine.

Imagine Pats taking a receiver early?!

A Green Bay scenario - alot of 30--40 catch guys but no stand-outs?

If anything he's competition for the WR3 spot since Elijah Moore is more of a flyer and Hollywood Brown certainly has the talent to be a WR2 if he's healthy but better served a WR3

They’ve added 3 WR’s now. All those guys and a relatively high draft pick makes letting AJ go easier.Look at the Packers offense. They don’t have a No.1 receiver, they spread the ball around. That’s what they do in a Shanahan/McVay type of offense. Now it’s Puka Nacua in LA basically but that’s likely not what McVay prefers. That’s why a lot of people have the Rams taking Lemon or Cooper Jr. in the first. They want more than just Nacua and an almost washed up Adams.Back to the Eagles; they now have about 75 % of the horses to carry the load. Another WR in the first 3 rounds will get them to 100 %.Because of all the moves they’re making, doesn’t it feel like an AJ deal is already in place?!

Especially this most recent trade for Wicks.I think Howie is trying to hedge his bets and prepare for both scenarios, but I guess time will tell and we'll see if there's a draft day trade involving AJ Brown once again? How ironic would that be, to acquire him via a draft day trade and then to trade him via the same 😮

What if say the Patriots take a receiver at #31?!Maybe the Rams, Chargers or Ravens would still have interest but are they going to offer you what you’re seeking?!
April 13Apr 13 Author I’ll be doing my final mock in a couple of days but gut feeling tells me this is the guy they take.
