Full details of Dontayvion Wicks' 1-year extension with Eagles

Here are the details of Dontayvion Wicks' one-year extension with the Eagles.

By Dave Zangaro • Published April 21, 2026

Earlier this month, the Eagles shipped a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick to Green Bay for receiver Dontayvion Wicks.

That was just the first half of the deal.

Because the Eagles immediately gave Wicks a one-year extension that keeps him under contract through the 2027 season. And now we have full details of that contract from OverTheCap.

According to OTC, the one-year extension for Wicks is worth $12.5 million, $9 million of which is fully guaranteed.

For the Eagles, this represents a somewhat significant investment in Wicks. No, it’s not top-end receiver money, but it’s a sign that they clearly have plans for the former Packers’ receiver.

As a part of the deal, Wicks received a signing bonus of $5.855 million. His entire salary in 2026 is fully guaranteed, as is $2 million of his 2027 salary. The Eagles tacked on four void years for salary cap purposes, which has been their standard procedure in recent seasons.

Here are the Eagles’ cap hits with Wicks over the next three seasons:

2026 cap hit: $2.316 million
2027 cap hit: $4.094 million
2028 dead money: $8.201 million

Based on that $12.5 million one-year extension, Wicks ranks as the 32nd highest paid receiver in the NFL. While his production in the NFL hasn’t been great, the Eagles think the 24-year-old has untapped potential. Eagles new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion and tight ends coach/run game coordinator Ryan Mahaffey ought to know; they both coached Wicks in Green Bay.

Wicks, a former fifth-round pick, had 108 catches for 1,328 yards and 11 touchdowns in his three seasons with the Packers.

"Tay is a player that we've followed,” GM Howie Roseman said last week. "Obviously, we've played Green Bay a bunch of times. You see his skillset, I mean he's a physical explosive player at the top of routes he can play inside or out. So he's the guy that we had our eye on here and then bringing in some of these Green Bay guys. Some of the hardest parts of our job is the cohab part, not understanding who the person is. And so when you get a chance to bring in some of these new coaches and then talk about some of the players and the skillset and then know how they are in the building, it makes you feel even more confident when you make the acquisition.”

Roseman said one of their priorities this offseason was to improve the depth at the receiver spot. In addition to the Wicks trade, the Eagles also signed Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore to one-year deals. Of course, we’re all still waiting to see what happens with A.J. Brown, who is reportedly likely to be traded to the Patriots after June 1.
