I don’t think too much can be made from a preseason game positively or negatively at this point. I think the hype train is a little ridiculous right now though. Feels like Travis Fulgham again. People need to tamper expectations for an undrafted guy.

At least Fulghsm did something meaningful in the regular season. Short lived, but very productive.

I still think Cooper can be a solid WR3.

Put what to rest? He beat the odds by having a strong TC and preseason last year, making the final 53 and remaining on it the whole year. He followed that up with a strong TC so far. He was one of the few skill position offensive players that did anything well in the 1st preseason game and the so-called "drop" was a timing pass where the QB was hurried.

We don't know what he will eventually become in the NFL. We do know that he has had two strong TCs out of two years in the league. We also know he played 212 offensive snaps last year, was targeted 11 times for 9 grabs and 92 yards (101.5 QB rating when targeted) in real games. He had no drops as a rookie. We know he's trending the right direction regardless of hype.

He’s trending towards being a never used back of roster WR who either is never heard from or is the recipient of a lot of heat for being under talented and under productive for his role until he is ultimately replaced on the back end of the roster by a younger UDFA or late round pick.

So Cooper lit it up in camp last season, he didn't do much in the preseason games or during the regular season, and thus far it's looking like last year.

The only thing I can think of to explain it is there's no hitting in TC, but there is hitting in preseason and the regular season, it's looking like dude hears footsteps.

He led the team in receptions, receiving yards and had 1 of our 3 receiving TDs in the preseason last year. Every time you make an argument you make it that much more obvious you don't watch the games. Last year he basically beat out Ainias Smith who had some return skills on his resume.

He's trending towards making a case for himself on an NFL roster. He's taking the same path Blankenship had to take. Blankenship would probably still be here if he wasn't considered good enough, but instead he's currently the 23rd highest paid safety in the NFL.

He’s going to make the roster. Agreed there. He’ll never be the 23rd highest paid wr in the league that’s for sure.

You would have said similar things about Jason Peters, Rod Smith and Kurt Warner before their 2nd years. The only fact is: that we don't know. Kurt Warner probably would have never gotten the chance if injuries didn't force the Rams to play him.
