When Trump and Vance endorse them will you admit you are a retarded person?

They aren’t getting a majority and no other party will go into a coalition with them so they won’t be in power though they will be the biggest party in that state govt.

Major state = 11 of 16th by population!

Is this an actual far right party or is it one of those deals where someone says they’re far right, but in reality it’s just a 1998 democrat that wants strong borders and is tough on crime?

What far-right party stopped leading a German state in 1945?

A little of both. Anti-immigration combined with convenient hiding place with more xenophobic elements

They're a 'strong borders' party. Which means that they're very much a pro-Russian party. To the point where a lot of their financing comes from Russia.

You see, Russia is funding two things simultaneously: illegal immigration to Europe, and immigration social media bots. They're causing a problem in order to then sow discontent on socials. And AfD aligns themselves with Russia, because they like taking Russian money, not because they want to actually fix that problem, because then that would involve not taking Russian money and, you know, holding Russia accountable.

State Election in Saxony-Anhalt AfD Election Party

Supporters of US President Donald Trump cheered on Germany’s far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) after the party won a landslide victory in a key regional election on Sunday.

Trump has not explicitly responded, but he posted an infographic of the results on his Truth Social platform Sunday evening, indicating his interest.

Former US ambassador to Germany during Trump’s first term, Richard Grenell, celebrated the results as "a huge win and a new day in Germany.”

"The people are ready for change no matter what names you call them,” he said on X.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk was among the first to celebrate AfD’s victory with a resounding "Well done!” in response to a post from AfD’s co-leader Alice Weidel.

Ulrich Siegmund, the 35-year-old lead candidate for AfD in Saxony-Anhalt state, thanked Musk for his support and said he would "welcome the opportunity for strong and constructive cooperation.”

"Germany would once again be a place worth investing in,” he said on X.

From a person who would have gladly given a seig heil in 1930's Germany, that's about what I would expect from you.

considering that obama is procus' #1 fantasy, he was most likely thinking of barak hiding something else elbow deep.

One of us supports the modern day NSDAP party, and America's hitler, and it isnt me.

It’s "Sieg Heil”. You don’t want them to laugh at you when you’re at the next Trump rally.

Problem with the AFD and their Russian connections stems in part from the occupation of Russian forces in East Germany. It’s the weird thing that the far right AFD and the far left BSW have in common in Eastern Germany. It’s unheard of that a far right party and a far left party might work together in the state government.

I wouldn’t call the entire party an extreme right party, but they do have a bunch of former neo NSDAP people in their ranks, who haven’t been thrown out. That extreme wing has gained more power over the last few years and it’s definitely a concern. The moderates are basically like the Republican Party under Trump.

A lot of people voted for them to protest the horrible political course of the established parties. Merkel’s horrendous immigration decision in 2015 and the ensuing onslaught of illegal immigration was the driver for the AFD rise. The prisons are filled with foreign criminals and the stupidity of putting them back on the streets is a disaster.

This will not be the last time the AFD wins in a state election. People are worried that they’re being overrun and it’s costing a fortune. The social system is being ruptured / ripped to shreds & the government is ruining the economy of its own citizens with all the taxes and policies.

You will find that former Warsaw Pact nations have more conservatives in terms of both voting and on social issues than people in Western Europe. Years of communist occupation will do that.

Yeah, there are way more conservatives in the former Warsaw Pact nations than in the west. Communist occupation isn’t the main cause of their conservative view though IMO. Some of these "conservatives” actually have a warped positive view of their "occupation” and communism. There is a glorified view of the past because of the way the world has changed. It’s a dangerous time and some of these folks are forgetting that their freedom was basically nonexistent under the authoritarian rule of the communist party. Extremes on either side of the political spectrum are dangerously wrong.

In a close election Sweden will move over to a left block coalition govt. The far right party had its worst election since 2018 dropping several mandates.
