Far Too Early 2027 Eagles Mock Draft

Featured Replies

The start of the season has been a mixed bag so far and while some aspects of this team can surely improve over the course of the season, it is pretty apparent that we are looking at a roster that is not as strong as we thought it was from a personnel standpoint.

Let's take a crack at it:

Round 1 - Kade Pieper OG Iowa - Checks off the boxes for the zone blocking scheme (assuming we're still running it) as an athletic guard with good lateral movement, comes from a program known to produce quality OL, and also has positional versatility to play center. I suspect Landon Dickerson's will be gone after this season due to his injury and wouldn't be surprised if Tyler Steen is allowed to walk in free agency, so guard is definitely a need.

Round 2 - Melvin Siani OT Texas - Another early pick on the OL for the zone blocking scheme. Former Temple Owl who transferred to Wake Forest and most recently Texas who can either push Markel Bell for the RT spot after Lane Johnson retires or slides inside to RG assuming Bell develops into a quality starter at RT.

Round 3 (comp) - Jaylen McClain S Ohio State - With Marcus Epps and several other DBs slated for free agency, the Eagles bring in another young safety to pair with Andrew Mukuba in the secondary, to allow Cooper DeJean to focus on predominantly playing nickel CB where he was successful previously.

Round 4 - Luke Reynolds TE Virginia Tech - Given that Dallas Goedert and Grant Calcaterra are both on expiring deals and Zach Ertz is not a long term solution, there is a need for TE behind Eli Stowers. Reynolds, the former Penn State TE, is one of the better blocking TE in this draft class and should complement Stowers' skill set.

Round 5 - Xavier Lucas CB Miami - With several CBs hitting free agency, the team needs more depth. Lucas has an intriguing blend of height at 6'2 and decent speed, projected to run a 4.4, for a late round dart throw at CB. His biggest liability is run support, but otherwise decent in coverage.

Round 5 (NE) - Drake Lindsey QB Minnesota - With Tanner McKee and Andy Dalton heading into free agency, the Eagles will need another backup QB on the roster besides Cole Payton. Lindsey's physical profile is similar to McKee with both QBs being 6'6 and 230 lbs, with the size to be able see over the OL and abilities as a pocket passer.

Round 7 (NYJ) - Elinneus Davis DT Washington - While it will be tough to replace Moro Ojomo with another 7th round pick, the team still has a need for depth behind Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis. Elinneus can come in and provide value in run support right away while developing his pass rush moves.

Round 7 (DAL) - Da'Shawn Womack DE Auburn - Another late round dart throw for the EDGE rusher position that is lacking depth behind Nolan Smith Jr. The Jonathan Greenard trade so far has not yielded results, and I would expect Howie to take a few swings on 1-year prove it deal signings once again in free agency also.
