Fortunately, there aren’t any crazy folks on the right.

Based on the destruction we’ve seen since the end of May, I’d venture the left has many, many times the number of violent psychopaths than the right.

This.

I won't condone any of that, but the reality is that Republicans have been undermining constitutionalism and representative government in the most sinisters ways for a long time. Eventually, the levee breaks. If you have a view of sociology and human behaviors, this is the predictable outcome from the kind of underhanded sh** the GOP has been pulling. When people feel alienated by leadership and are deeply anxious that their ways of life and safety are literally under attack, they tend to react viscerally. Weird, huh?

That’s great, I just completely disagree with politically motivated violence. That used to be a normal position, but 2020 I guess.

It's still a normal position, but how far can you realistically expect people to be pushed before they reach their breaking point?

lol at this weak justification for political violence. Oh no, a president I don’t like gets to replace a Supreme Court justice, I’m going to burn things now.

I didn't justify. I said it's predictable. There's a difference between saying something is ok and saying that you could see it coming. Try to wrap your brain around that, Karen. They literally stole one seat already after making up some rule about the nominating process, and now they're (predictably) going back on that to pack the courts, and it's probably the Court system over the other branches of government that has the capacity to directly affect the lives of average citizens more than any other. This coming on the heels of four years of Trump shittting on the Constitution and a bungled pandemic response leaving millions out of work and uninsured.

Just because Republicans haven't literally been in the streets burning things down doesn't mean they haven't been wreaking havoc and destruction of their own kind, one that is arguably causing greater long-term structural damage and destroying lives in its their own right. Since they hold the levers of power, they don't need to literally be burning buildings. But they've been burning things down alright. The GOP has been running on a scorched-earth platform for over a decade now.

add in the fact that the Left is often disorganized in their opposition too.  But this potential powder keg in American politics has always been there going back to the Whiskey Rebellion

Late to the party on this but rest in peace RBG.  Regardless of your politics she was a person who was impossible not to respect.

Do you have any insight into yourself?  Any self awareness at all?  If so then you understand that you are a direct contributor to this division albeit on a small scale of course.

I'm in a fantastic mood today and have been since last night. Have a fantastic weekend!!!

It is over dude.  The whole thing is about to come crashing down.  The question is how.  I think the Dems are going to split in two and the moderate group will pillage the Repubs leaving three main parties plus the little startups.  We'll see a good bit of violence along with this.  How much and how widespread is really the big question.  The US political landscape is about to undergo its biggest change in decades.

The reason it wont come apart is that the decency and ethics people pine for were never real in the first place. This is normal sadly.

Biden is just fine. He’s already up in every swing state and literally been out stumping non stop for a week. He and trump are the same age and I have no doubt that trump has at least 75 lbs over Biden. That’s a lot of work for a heart that doesn’t see any exercise.

I have Biden as  the next one down.

I'm late to this

Lmfao you’re too much dude

I have to say, I disagree with Trump pushing to fill this "without delay" the day after an iconic pillar of the left passes away.  There is no way the Democrats would confirm anyone before the election and he knows it.  I do think he should work to fill the seat before January (as either party would), but it would have been much classier to let this rest for a few days to properly honor her life.  This is the sort of thing that really hurts him with women and moderates.

Sad part is if it was reversed I think they wouldn't wait either

Politics have become more cutthroat and pandering

We need a reset button for politicians

You're trash. Utter trash. Far worst a human being than any of those on the left you routinely decry.
