The only thing the destroyer has to use at that point is light machine guns and rifles. The real worry is if they pack some of those boats with explosives. They can easily put it all out of sight in the cabin, drive up right next to the destroyer, pull the trigger, and we have a repeat of the U.S.S. Cole.
