I’m gonna say a tie.  Trump mainly defeated Chris Wallace.  He rattled Biden, but he also acted like an imbecile most of the night.

Trump convinced 0 new voters he’s fit.  His camp remains loyal, but I think he’s done (barring something unforeseen).

Biden will win the EC by 100-150 points.

Team trump handed Biden the win before it even started. They claimed for months he’d basically be up on stage drooling and peeing on himself. He came off as coherent and destroyed the trump team’s narrative. The next one being a town hall will be even easier for Biden to win.

Biden is leading already.  He doesn’t have to win any of the debates.

Trump has lost some of the suburban white women that voted for him last time and that’s going to cost him big time.  He didn’t win any of them back last night.

who won?  ...

Trump sucked all the air out of the room with his interjections and childish ranting and raving. And the lies... oh the lies. But that's what he does in general, and it can be effective. But I find it hard to watch last night's debate and think that it was. He came off as whiny, petulant, and childish. All the things anyone paying attention knows he is, but I don't think he did himself favors.

Biden wasn't really given much room to operate frankly. He's got to stand up there opposite the equivalent of a monkey flinging poo and try to maintain composure. For the most part I think he did, and if I think about any lines being memorable or effective in a positive way last night we're looking at "would you just shut up" (because it exposes Trump's antics), the heartfelt way he talked about his sons, and in general I think him trying to rise above it and talking to the camera was probably a bit effective. But to be sure this is graded very much on a curve; Biden wasn't "good", but he wasn't a dumpster fire like Trump was.

Given that Biden is the consensus front-runner in this, it was Trump that needed to come up with a performance that can turn the few undecideds. I think all he did was ensure that all the nutjobs who are already voting for him are all in. I think he may have even lost some more suburban women, if that's possible. So on that, I guess Biden won?

It was like a 23-23 tie to the worst team in football.... Actually, the Eagles game last week was somehow more compelling.

Yeah, that was a layup. He could have simply denounced it and asked Biden to do the same of Antifa and then made fun of Biden as he mumbles about how they're an idea. He didn't because he basically has the mentality of a toddler. If someone tells him to do something, he's not going to do it. Wallace could have asked him to denounce Obama, and he wouldn't have simply because he saw Wallace as an adversary at that point and didn't want to give him what he wanted.

That said I voted Trump won bigly.

Did Dear Leader tell you to vote in this poll? Last instruction I heard he gave you was to stand by.

Probably better to put the word debate in quotes. I'm not sure you could call it that. We had a 2 bit tyrant screaming at everyone and asking white nationalist terrorists to stand by. How anyone could watch Trump last night and think to themselves "Yes! I want him as president!" is beyond me.

This is why I voted biden won big despite both of them performing terribly last night. Literally all trump has to do was denounce white supremacists, and couldn't even do that. Actually somehow made it WORSE with the "stand by" comment. I don't think biden gained any voters last night in the traditional sense but I believe trump lost some.

If this debate took place in an alternate America where 200K people hadn't just died, millions weren't out of work and the country weren't in a state of crisis on pretty much every front, it may have just been a nice gladiator match that people would've enjoyed for the blood sport of it.  But now, with everything that's going on?  Not good.  Trump hurt himself exactly where he can't hurt himself, with suburban women.  And he didn't help himself anywhere, because everyone who was hoping for an in-the-mud bareknuckle boxing match is already deep in the cult.

The VP debate (for as much as that matters) should be a cake walk for Harris. Pence is way out of his element and I'd guess he'll just do what he did against Kaine: shake his head, give her the look like he just took a dump in his pants and act like she's crazy.  But Harris's gameplan should be do no harm, so I'd imagine she reigns it in to protect the lead.

Then there's the next Prez debate, which will go the exact same way as this one because with Trump, everything's inevitable.  He'll need desperately to pull himself back and act like a grown up but he's incapable of doing that so we'll get a carbon copy of this one.

Basically, all these debates are doing is giving America a chance to see what they hate about Trump one more time, in person and unfiltered.  That's bad news for him.

 It must hurt so bad to truly know he botched it because the debates were pretty much his last chance.

No one won it.  But Trump lost it.

That was my take.

America lost first, but Trump was a close second.

Yeah, he definitely had a chance to win over a bunch of leftists with a better showing. What a missed opportunity!
