February 16Feb 16 It seems like there's been a lot of hit and miss when posting tweets from X lately. Sometimes the old work around (changing "X" with "twitter" ) has worked. Sometimes nothing works as you get the message that it couldn't embed because there was no tweet in the link. Then you go into a different thread and it works there. Sometimes you'll be reading a topic and posts have the space for the embedded tweets, but they don't "appear" even after a lengthy wait.
February 17Feb 17 Any reason why some tweets are finicky and don't automatically embed? Copying the link and pasting it doesn't always embed. Sometimes I need to copy and past a few times and clear out the text editor even when it's cleared for the tweet to embed. It's strange to describe
February 17Feb 17 Do youtube videos not embed anymore? https://youtu.be/2rbntGpvHDM?si=tT1kwPtCWU8yHAhD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rbntGpvHDM&feature=youtu.be The address bar url and the share link didn't embed

Look at the first link, it's 'youtu.be' That won't embed. If you get that kind of link, click on it and go to the video and get the actual URL, which looks like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rbntGpvHDM That particular video's owner had blocked it from being embedded, so it won't embed. Here's the second one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rbntGpvHDM That one doesn't allow embedding either, which is a choice of the video owners. Just to test it and make sure that other videos will embed, here's one from the Rich Eisen Show, which has always embedded in the past:
February 17Feb 17 Interesting. I didn't know youtube lets them have setting where it won't embed. I guess that makes sense That's odd though because I clicked on the video and that was the link from the address bar. I'll have to remember that

I'll have to remember that Yep, there's a setting in the Video Details page when you publish a video that allows or disallows embedding:
February 17Feb 17 Do they not get views and whatnot from embedded videos? I can see wanting to keep it on your page and not allow sharing

February 20Feb 20 So twitter keeps messing with things and that's why sometimes they wont embed? It's weird that sometimes I'll have to click backspace numerous times in the empty text editor and then paste for it to embed
February 25Feb 25 I kept forgetting to grab a screenshot of it I know the tweet exists. I don't know why but sometimes it'll works and will embed if I just spam the backspace to clear out the text editor even after deleting the tweet It's very annoying
February 25Feb 25 I sometimes give up trying to share tweets here. Most of the time you get that message mike shared above. I have to refresh the browser page, then go back to the tweet and click copy link, then paste again and that usually works.
February 26Feb 26 This one says the tweet embedded but it's clearly not showing 1 minute ago, Mike030270 said: $60M! You know you want to! Edit: damn tweet embedded but it's not showing Purdy in contract talks Damnit Elon! Quit screwing with twitter!

February 27Feb 27 I think it's something with the Invision. I'm on another board that uses XenForo and there's no issues with links embedding. Even social media links embed with that
March 3Mar 3 Following up on these X posts, yes, sometimes you copy and link and paste and it embeds, other times you need to change the format of the file for it to embed, and still other times you still need to replace the X with twitter for it to embed. Boards are all over the place on this.

Find a tweet (or whatever they call it now) and click the 'share icon' on it (as shown in the image below... the icon with the up arrow and lower bracket) From there, click 'Copy Link'. Once you have the link, come here and post it into the thread where you want to share it. For me, the image below is how it embeds initially: If this is what you get, click 'Paste as plain text instead'. Once I click that, it converts the rich text to plain text and the tweet embeds properly, like this: Try that and see if it works for you.

That's my first choice - and more often than not, I have to play with it for the link to embed. Sometimes it does at first shot, but more often than not, no. If not, then additional steps needed as I stated to make it embed.

I'll play around with it more and see how it goes. Are you on a phone, tablet or computer?
