OK thanks for confirming that it's not just me.

Looks like it has to do with the server firewall. Not sure why, but that's what it looks like. I'm a little reluctant to have GoDaddy do anything because back in 2020 when there were issues and they did something, we lost a week or 2 worth of posts. But if the upgrade doesn't fix it, I'll have them do something.

Just got the message again.  Here's a screenshot.  I was trying to add the share link.

It was this post and the edit I was trying was adding this YouTube embed https://youtu.be/nxRNtLsZydU?feature=shared

Since I have admin access, it won't restrict me but earlier today I made a change. Editing wasn't time sensitive, but that is an option that can be activated if so desired. So I tweaked that a little as an experiment. So go and try to edit that post now and see what happens.

Same problem

Here’s a test of a new post to see if the problem will occur on a post that is since you made the change rather than before you made the change.

I'm looking into it to see if it's a server issue.

Add me to the list of getting a message saying I can't edit a post directly after making it

Is it everywhere or just in certain threads/forums? Post in a few different places and see if you can edit each time.

I could edit this directly after and still can keep editing

I couldn't edit this directly after and still can't

I'm going to have Mark do the upgrade whenever he can, so soon. Hopefully, that will solve that issue.

Test editing post.

Edit: worked.

Test with Twitter post then edit.

@VaBeach_Eagle so in attempting to edit that post with the Tweet, I got the error message. Also worth noting when I clicked "Ok" the pop-up removed, but the screen was stuck at the "Saving" button. I had to refresh the page.

That sequence is what I have experienced as well. To get out of the "saving” infinite loop I too had to refresh the screen on my iPhone.

As you can see below adding an image using the edit function does work.

However, when I went to then edit to add a link (using the one NOW inserted above) I got the same error sequence.  The link was https://x.com/newheightshow/status/1909735413486682230?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1909735413486682230|twgr^83d31f6d93fcef81726499aca4c702a9630fd933|twcon^s1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eaglesmessageboard.com%2Findex.php%3Fapp%3Dcoremodule%3Dsystemcontroller%3Dembedurl%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fx.com%2Fnewheightshow%2Fstatus%2F1909735413486682230

So the error happens when you choose the "Paste as plain text rather than rich text” option.

Boards look great. Thank you.

Is there any way to switch to a light mode?

Figured it out - go to your personal account settings. There's a light mode link on the bottom left. I switched to the Kelly Green

There still seems to be an issue editing posts that contain links for whatever reason.

On mobile, there is a broken image url icon next to sub forums

how do I get it to open a thread to the first post I have not previously seen?!?

I think I figured it out under my user settings. Board update must have reset the selection

So far it looks like the embedding issue was fixed. Images loading is a little slow but I may need to just clear cache and cookies

I like how there's an option to add a new line after pasting and embedding a link

I noticed BlueSky does indeed embed now

There used to be a little + at the corner of a quote in the text editor where you could click and remove the quote

Can't seem to find it or whatever replaced it to delete quotes you decide you want to remove from the editor
