Seventy_Yard_FG Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 I’ll start. If the dems think that Trump owing $400 in debt compromises him and is therefor a national security threat, then what do they think of the fact that the United States owes $27 trillion? (Respond only with a question)
toolg Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 Are you sure Trump is only $400 in debt, when he says $400,000,000 is peanuts? Do you think his debt load is even worse?

(Respond only with a question) Why do I feel you are ignoring the fact that an individual (or a corporation in some instances) who has such massive debt can be manipulated, and that completely different mechanisms are at work when talking a nation's debt load?

Why wouldn’t those mechanisms also influence the different courses our politicians might take?

I think most would say the debt should influence some courses our politicians take? However, maybe some would say being personally in debt leaves individuals open to being influenced buy outside entities into making decisions and policies that are not in out countries best interest? Maybe thats why these sort of things are checked out before high security clearances are issued?
