It’s one thing to take Miami lightly, I would hope they don’t take a division opponent lightly, especially since they’re not exactly setting the world on fire themselves.

Yeah, its easy to take a bad team lightly especially in a city like Miami. Dallas on the other hand, no freaking way.

I can't stop thinking that this is this season's trap game. Like Miami last year we think it will a easy win (which I would like to see) but anything can happen. Our D line needs to embarrass the Dallass O line and have multiple QB sacks.

If they go into this game with the mindset that this is an easy win then that adds even more fuel to the fire that this coaching staff isn’t getting this team properly prepared (mentally) and they need a change there.

I like the idea of JP at guard. His main issue is that he isn't as quick out of his stance now which causes issues with fast edge rushers. Should be much less of an issue at guard.

Starting line should be Mailata, Peters, Kelce, Herbig, Johnson. Peters should also be a huge help to Mailata with his experience.

As much as I hate the Idea of JP Ever playing a tackle, he can still contribute for the remainder of this season. JP at G where at least he can read defenses and call protections. Experience matters and JP has a lot of it.

Not at guard or on the right side of the line.

G on the left side, right next to Mailata. Where JP call protections and help Mailata to get better for the remainder of this season. Next season Mailata will take a big step forward, through Learn by doing!

That's not a bad thought.  I think Mailata has settled in nicely at LT but obviously JP has a lot of wisdom he could share with the young man.

How about just staying in "don't quit no matter ho bad it looks like"...that is enough for me given the situation we are in

You’re in luck then, because the Eagles rarely quit under Pederson.

For those watching the Pittsburgh-Baltimore game, we need plays designed that mimic that TD play (with the WRs stacked on either side of the line).

Well given the situation our roster is in, can we ask more from the players on the field? I am not saying we can't expect more or much more from GM and coaching staff regarding play calling and so..

I don’t know how much more we can ask from some of these guys. Many of them are special teams types of players and practice squad types. I do think we should be getting a lot more from our multi-turnover franchise quarterback.

Just less turnovers would be a start. Would stop putting our defense in bad spots and it may extend our drives and perhaps result in more points on offense.

He’s just chucking the ball up there so it’s hard to even know if he can ever get right again.

Totally agree here

I don't know why he's playing like he's so desperate though.

Clear regression of our quote unquote franchise QB and really our offense overall.

If we don’t do anything else this upcoming offseason, they absolutely need to hire a new QB coach and an OC and have Doug give up play calling duties.

Sadly I just think they need to make a change at the position. I know that's extreme and hey maybe given a bit more time I'll change my view (again) but at this point I'm really struggling to see that this guy is the long term answer.

I don't think they can ... they went all in on Wentz when they gave him that monster contract.  Their best bet is to hope he can turn it around with better coaching, to regain the form he showed the first 3 years of his career.  I'm sure Flip and Reich played a huge part in his early development.  Once they left and Taylor was promoted his play has gone down hill significantly.  Maybe Lurie will see this and once again step in at season's end and force his hand to part ways with Taylor (or move him to a different role) in much the same way he did with Groh and Walch.

Surely you draft Hurts for this reason? I mean sure the main reason was to provide cover if Wentz goes down but surely this is another option here? I mean why does it matter who you are paying the money to? If they are hurting the team then you bench them and go with another option surely? I know they won't, I know they will stick with Wentz but to me if this continues then they have to bench him and go with another option.

Not disagreeing with you, I just think Doug will stick with Wentz out of blind loyalty, just like he does with JP.  But yeah if he continues to struggle as badly as he has been I personally don't see why Doug doesn't use that same reasoning he used in his recent PC about moving Mailata back to the bench to play JP (when comparing it to the Agholor situation and how sometimes it is beneficial to let them clear their head and watch from the bench for a period) to sit Wentz for a game or 2 and play Hurts.

Oh I agree Doug isn't going to pull him. I mean if he pulls him then there will be a perception that there is no way back for Wentz. Now I don't agree with that, I think he can be benched and a message sent without it being an irreversible decision. At this point you have a second round pick on the bench that you are already putting in and out of the game. Just go with Hurts and see what he can do. If it doesn't work out then at least we know we are stuffed! :-)

I think asking Doug to give up play calling would almost be like giving up on Doug. If he’s disgruntled about not having autonomy over his staff, no way he’ll be happy about not having autonomy about his game day responsibilities.

Well the defense met expectations.

The offense on the other hand ...

Then buh bye Doug.  Not like he’s doing a stellar job.  The offense is supposed to be his baby.  It had flat out stunk for the last 2 1/2 years.

Oh I’m not disagreeing. I’ve got Doug in my doghouse as well. Honeymoon is pretty much over with him as well.

The Eagles and the Bears offences are pretty much the same. They have a much better defence hence their better record. Seems to me both Pederson and Nagy are Andy wannabees and got jobs as they ran successful offences under Andy. Doug got lucky with Reich and Foles. If I was a team looking for a new coach I would be very wary of Bienemey.
