Posted November 15, 20204 yr Ok, enough of the interchangeable chess piece DB shenanigans. We have corners who tackle well for corners trying to tackle well as safeties and failing. ( go back to corner Goblin ) Maddox : gonna sit a while, you’re short. Who knows maybe you’ll grow. Point is the interchangeable player stuff is getting schemed by opponents. Starting Corners : Slay Goblin Nickel: Jacquett Safeties : McCloud & Wallace. Wht do we have to lose, go back to this and use Parks for an occasional different look. I miss Buddy Ball 46 Defense
November 15, 20204 yr Author He’s not really the problem whoever is calling the offense is the problem. The defensive scheme is bad, but Schwartz can play different
November 15, 20204 yr It’s just all moving interchangeable parts of suckage. Relying on undrafted free agents, late round picks, and bargain basement players, but we are expecting a top five offense and defense. There is money invested in certain places on this team. Unfortunately it’s poorly invested and there isn’t enough money spent on a well balanced team and there isn’t enough young talent on this roster that’s good enough to force the old guys out.
November 15, 20204 yr Step One : Fire GYM SHORTS Step Two: Hire Dan Quinn Step Three: Get players Dan Quinn needs

With that said, you gotta give the guy a pass at this point, he's playing with no LBers, not a one is worth a damn, this isn't on Schwartz, that's Howie's doings.
November 16, 20204 yr Howie can't draft CB, S, LB, so so at DE, can't draft DT or OL, WR, back up QB in the 2nd? NFL teams are built thru the draft. There is no other way.
November 16, 20204 yr You can save a ton of salary cap space on defense and get similar results to what we get half the time. It's clear now that to fix our 2021 cap, we are getting rid of a lot of our current defensive starters.

I don’t completely disagree that he is not the greatest CB, but he’s not a great safety either. McCloud is our free safety and Wallace is better than Mills at SS so give Wallace a shot to develop I say Jacquett earned a starting role. If you don’t like my above scenario, here is another secondary: Slay / Jacquette Starting Corners Maddox Back to nickel, too short for outside. Insert Nickell Roby, or LeBlanc here also if you prefer McCloud / Wallace. Starting Safeties Mills / Parks back up...whatever position they’re supposed to be. Get where I’m going? 3 true corners and 2 true safeties. Forget the chess piece crap.
November 16, 20204 yr I saw a load of lack of effort yesterday on the defense's part. That's a discipline thing. Too many mistakes too.......

November 16, 20204 yr Dline is stealing money Also what happened to Slay? He was balling in the beginning. Is dealing with an injury?

November 16, 20204 yr This is off topic slightly. But, remember the yearly fan-fare that is over zealous in regard to Josh Sweat as soon as he gets 2 sacks in a 3 game span in September? Where he at though? I know Barnett is out there and he is rotational. But, even with the rotation, Barnett as a 1st pick and Sweat who is supposedly sooo athletic, don't sustain high level of play through the season to the end of the season. Barnett hasn't been the walking offsides and personal foul machine this season. But, he's not doing much else either. Old ass Vinny Curry is outperforming them on less snaps.
November 16, 20204 yr Author Bunny Curry has been a nice surprise, not sold on the Sweat train myself either.

But, he isn't Lockdown, lockdown anymore. He just isn't going to get opportunities because teams see so much dearth at the other CB positions. I noticed he was saving himself when Jones ran for the TD and he of fleet of foot Slay (nor any of the other LB's or 2nd level DB's) did not hustle to even attempt to tackle him. Funny that the Eagles have had a lack of play makers in the secondary for years. Yet, they cut Douglas who was their best in air/on ball playmaker and tackler.

Funny how they do that when they leave ... a lot of em anyway. See the article about current Eagles from last year on other teams?

November 21, 20204 yr They need to put Mills at CB, slide Maddox inside, and use Parks/Wallace at S. Maddox is such a liability on the outside because he doesn't have the hops or strength to compensate for his lack of size. End the experiment; you have better (still not ideal) options.
