Hawkeye Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Multiple reports tonight that the Eagles are signing Howard to the practice squad after he clears the COVID protocols. He was released by the Dolphins and cleared waivers earlier this week. If true, and he's healthy, this is a good move by the Birds. He scored 6 TDs before he got hurt here last year and has a career average of 4.2 yards per carry. Too bad Doug doesn't like to run the ball.. https://theeagleswire.usatoday.com/2020/11/19/philadelphia-eagles-jordan-howard-sign-contract/ 6
paco Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Not surprised. He would be dirt cheap. Sign him for the rest of the year, let him walk and sign elsewhere. Which leads to: COMP PIKZZZZZZ 5 3
time2rock Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Great move! He and Sanders were a great tandem IMO. It sucked watching him leave but completely understood not wanting to come close to matching the offer Miami gave him. And Scott serves as a really nice change of pace back. Sanders, Howard, Scott >> Sanders, Scott, Clement 8

Mike030270 Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 Will they finally put both on the field? FFS it worked once before really well

devpool Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 It's so weird how much he dropped off a cliff being so young. Couldn't get snaps in Miami over a bunch of young guys even when they had injuries. Either way if he's healthy he's better than clement so not a bad move

Philthy Jawn Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 Glad to see him back, as it's been obvious we've sorely missed a bruising back like him. But I have to wonder if that shoulder injury was worse than it was let on last season.
Road to Victory Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 I remember there were guys on this board arguing that we should give Howard $7-8m per year to re-sign him. Thank God they’re not running the team.

UK_EaglesFan89 Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 He's being brought back on the PS isn't he? I mean doesn't that speak volumes?
DeathByEagle Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 4 minutes ago, vaff said: He has been atrocious this year, though. Only 28 carries but 4 TDs. Sanders only has 3 rushing TDs on 86 touches. You can see Miami used him as a short down/goaline back only. I disagree with hes a one trick pony. If you watched him with the Bears he was a very good inside dive and off tacke back. Anything between the tackles. There is a lot of options to use in between those tackles run play wise.
