He's being brought back on the PS isn't he? I mean doesn't that speak volumes?

He has to go on the PS first till he passes through Covid guidelines(min 5 days). Im sure by next week hes on the active roster.

They park him on the practice squad while he goes through the COVID protocol.  That way they don’t have to use a roster spot until he’s ready to go.

Not this year given that players can be moved to the active roster this year right before game day. In any other year, sure it would, though in normal years he wouldn’t be eligible anyway.

Only 28 carries but 4 TDs. Sanders only has 3 rushing TDs on 86 touches. You can see Miami used him as a short down/goaline back only.

I disagree with hes a one trick pony. If you watched him with the Bears he was a very good inside dive and off tacke back. Anything between the tackles. There is a lot of options to use in between those tackles run play wise.

Miami's running game is a mess, they've knocked 2 yards per carry minimum of the average of every vet back they've signed.

Good call out, there is another great point for his limited success with the Dolphins.

Ah OK thanks for clarifying bud.

I think for some players they just tend to do well in a certain system - they go elsewhere and look terrible in a different system.  See Nick Foles.

Member when the Eagles used to run the ball?

Not really, no.  When was that?  Before Andy Reid, maybe?  I have trouble remembering that far back

You dont remember 2017 when Frank was given a large majority role as OC? I know thats a year we forget pretty easy.

I don't think Reich was given the liberty to call the offense - he just had more say, more of a voice in Doug's ear.  I think when the offensive balance would get out of whack Reich (among others) would be in his ear telling him he needs to run the ball more.  When Wentz went down and Foles had to play, it was more Reich that helped adjust the offense to play to Nick's strengths.

Frank was given game planning and scripting the plays which in turn is play calling. Doug might have been making the call to Wentz/Foles but he was calling off the sheet and script Frank came up with.

He just turned 26 and has only been in the league for 4 years, so I’d think not.

There are people years, dog years, and rb years so you never know...

I like Scott, but we have been missing a bruiser this year. Now if we could just convince Doug to run the ball, we could be onto something.

That's been an issue for a while though so I'm not sure Doug is suddenly going to change. But hey he did in 2017 so he might? That's one way to limit your QB so makes sense.

Going to be a huge difference maker. Now I see us winning five games this year instead of four.

Cool. Cut Clement now

If they moved up Holyfield, you would have said they should have signed Howard

No, what we got from him is exactly what I expected, I've never been a fan and you can bet we'll get the same thing this time, 2 yards and a cloud of dust.

The Eagles were  0-9 on third downs and failed on a two point conversion last week.

They might appreciate a guy who can pick up a couple of yards now and then.

One thing that I would say about this is that good as he was the first 9 games last year, it is a concern that he missed 7 games with what was called a stinger, the fact he was out so long and hasn't set the world on fire in Miami regardless of the Dolphins wider rushing issues does concern me whether he's coming cheap or not.

are we able to get around that contract? BTW how predictable is this for the eagles

What contract?  He cleared waivers and was a UFA so the Eagles probably signed him for next to nothing.  Miami had to eat $4.7 million in both cash and dead money when they released him.

I don't see any downside to this.

True.  Well if he has nothing left then we move on and lost nothing in the process.  It is better to find out on a minimal contract rather than having matched what Miami paid him only to find out he is done.  But gut feeling says he will be fine here.

Maybe Doug will design some cool gadget 2 point plays with Howard. It has been such a success this year. Maybe apart from a qb factory we can be running back who can throw factory as well.

I want you to read what you just wrote.

Frank was scripting the plays which is play calling. Doug was making the call.

Doug was making the call.

Doug. Was. Making. The. Call.

So, the number of times the Eagles ran or passed was strictly up to Doug.

That's what you are arguing ... that it was up to Frank.
