November 27, 20204 yr That was good for the Cowboys honestly. Nobody should want to win this division and screw their draft pick up. I'm not saying tank but it should be looked at as a undercover victory to lose and get a top 5 pick.
November 27, 20204 yr Hey with that Washington win, the Eagles just went from picking 19th to picking 8th.

I guess they'll try to see where Dak is post recovery, but given he's just had his ankle blown out playing on a tag, I wonder if he might hold out for a proper extension. They've got a lot of holes coming, I think all their linebackers apart from Smith and Vander Esch are free agents, Xavier Woods is a free agent, Aldon Smith is their best pass rusher this season and he's on a one year deal, Dalton is on a one year deal.

It's hard for me to see Howie being able to fix this mess. I imagine Jeff Lurie doesn't share my pessimism. My only short term hope is that our younger players are better than they've looked due to incompetent coaching or play calling.

I fear things getting much worse before it gets better.

I mean this is a team way way over the cap and yet its one of the worst rosters in the NFL. This whole thing needs to be torn down and rebuilt and that's going to take time.

Getting a lot worse may be the only way they get better. Thinking they only need a few pieces to contend for a championship has been their undoing of late.

He'd be happy to take a tag over a pay cut. Their Oline is falling apart quickly and Sewell looks like a stud, so if they can get him, I think they do. I don't see them trying for one of the top two QBs. They have a bunch of holes to fill (not as many as the Eagles) especially on the defensive side of the ball, but previous years show that they like to build the Oline. Not sure how McCarthy changes the philosophy of having a great Oline and running the ball with Zeke. He hasn't really committed to that this year, but also the team has gotten down so quickly that they can't run the ball much. If not Sewell, Surtain for sure.
