I don't believe the Eagles are ready to move on from Wentz just yet.

No,not after 1/2 game. We will see how Hurts does compared to Hill. Rook on rook

Nah, Hurts is a round 2 ROOKIE,plenty would love to have him on a free ride rook contract

But if Hurts shows signs that he's really good then you keep Hurts...

He's going to be running for his life given the worst O Line is going against the top defense in the NFL.

At least we know he can use his legs at times to escape. But yeah it isn't going to be pretty.

It was mentioned that the cap hit in 2021 would basically be the same whether he was on the roster or traded (dead money hit about $30M).  So IOW we’d be paying out the same to either play for us or to not play for us.

The possible benefit to a trade might be getting a useful player or picks? At least they'd be getting something.

Hill a rook?  He’s been in the NFL since 2017.

I don’t think they move on from him (yet), but should they decide to go that route and trade him, the point was, they’re using the same amount of cap space on him whether he is here or not (in 2021 ... obviously future years are then free and clear of his cap hit).

If they’ve seen enough and know he isn’t the level of QB to get them to where they want to be (have to assume that is being perennial contenders), then it almost makes sense to deal him and get whatever picks they can in return to try to build the team.  Lord knows there are plenty of areas that need to be addressed (CB, WR, DE, interior OL, LB, S, etc).  Heck you could even argue TE if they decide to move on from Ertz too (which I think they should).
