I want the guy with proven ability and far less holes in his game. Reagor has too many question marks coming to a team that already has too many question marks at WR.

But I agree with you overall. Here's to hoping I'm wrong and he's a stud.

hope you're wrong too

I really like the pick other than passing on 2 of the best linebackers in the nation in Murray and Queen. I think it came down to value, the eagles really valued Reagor more obviously and highley coveted a outside speed receiving threat.

I think it's more that they value Carson and this pick helps him out.  Reagor and Jackson can clear the secondary and allow Ertz, Goddert ans Sanders to be even more open.

Jalen Reagor is what we'd get if we mixed Tyreek Hill and Deebo Samuel together.

And when DJax is out for the typical 4-8 weeks this year we have a guy that can still take the top off a D. Now I want one of the top S guys in the 2nd (McKinney, Dugger, Chinn, Winfield, Davis) and then another WR in the 3rd (Claypool, V Jefferson, Gandy-Golden, Edwards, etc).

Did McKinney run a bad 40 time?

I wouldn't be mad if we go ol in the 3rd

One thing to note is that the 49ers, a team that has drafted pretty well lately, passed up on the chance to grab Lamb at 14, and then traded up to get a guy at 25. That raises some pretty big red flags for me on Lamb.

Yeah could see a C if a Hennessey or Biadasz fall. Or maybe a G to allow Seumalo to move to C if/when Kelce retires.

So basically every complaint people have about reagor we're almost the same complaints the eagles had about Metcalf and the reason the eagles didn't take him. So we get the guy with the a high ceiling and athleticism and now people want the safe pick in Jefferson with the college production that most fans were sick of the eagles doing.

Well to be fair, Reagor played a majority of his snaps from the outside, while Jefferson took a majority of his snaps from the slot. The Eagles wanted speed on the outside and they get that in Reagor. Reagor also has the ability run routes. He's not just a straight line guy and he can return kicks and punts. So he is going to be used a lot.

He was in a garbage offense with a garbage qb.  I wouldnt read into the stats there.   We dont need 1000 yrd wrs we need guys that dont disappear for entire games and/or miss entire seasons due to injury.

we need pieces to complement what we already have.  We need speed.  and reagor fits the bill.

i do think he could have been had in the early 2nd rnd but need a trade partner for that and apparently there was none

Just saying, it's a red flag that he has such lackluster college numbers. Not everyone was out there catching passes from Joe Burrow, but ranking 16th in the Big12 in receiving yards is not a good thing.

I agree that we need speed, but there is still plenty of speed available in the draft. Jefferson ran a faster 40 time at the combine. Mims, Duvernay, Gibson, and a plethora of other 3rd day picks that run a sub-4.4 40 are still available.

Roseman is supposedly known for his ability to wheel and deal and move up to get his guys. That's even more reason that they should've solidified needs at say LB or DB then made the moves to get a speedy WR in round 2.

I still like Mims. Duvernay seems superfluous now with Reagor and DJax and Ward. With the thought that they don’t double up and take another WR in the 2nd (I think S or LB), in the 3rd still have options like Claypool, Edwards, Peoples-Jones, Van Jefferson, Gandy-Golden, Gibson, etc.

I'm pretty sure people just want a really good draft pick at this point. That's been hard to come by under the Roseman regime outside of Wentz.

They could have gotten this guy in the 2nd or 3rd round. I'm pissed they threw away another 1st round pick. You CAN't keep doing that, but they do. They could have gotten a 1st round WR AND this guy. Stupid.

He’s the best deep threat in the draft. What you wrote here is ridiculous.

Ruggs

He would have went at the end of the first or top of the second if we didn't draft him IMO

The Eagles like the multiple roles this player can provide. He's a vertical threat, he can return kicks and punts, etc. I'm sure Wentz is happy about having a deep threat.

Conceptually, Reagor is perfect for this offense/team. The TE’s dominate the middle of the field. The Eagles needed a deep threat. Sproles is gone. The Eagles needed a returner.

Now... it’s up to Reagor to work hard and make us forget about Agholor.

Ruggs

I guess we’ll find out. I’d take Reagor over Ruggs (although I would have traded down over taking either of them).

I like Reagor. He's a burner with great route running skills and play making ability after the catch. Plus he's got return ability. Love the way he uses his speed and quick twitch to get separation. Tracks the ball and goes up high to make some tough catches. Downside is he sometimes doesn't concentrate thru the catch and turns his head up field before completing it. That's something he can work on to correct fairly easily. Just secure the catch first and foremost. I like him more the Jefferson from a skills standpoint and think he has a higher upside. Jefferson was probably the safer pick but has a lower ceiling IMO.

Which bits, you think I read prospect ranking lists wrong?  you think the one CBS skills breakdown page you've hung your hat on outweighs that he was 9th ranked WR on their big board? or that literally every report on him says he doesn't do well with contact from physical corners on the outside and projects as a slot / z guy at NFL level?

Or is it you think our FO has a good record at WR post Maclin?

At the end of the day I hope you're right and he becomes a legit receiver, because if me and most of the sports media writers are right we just drafted another Philly reach, that'll go for 500-600yards a season trying catching the over the middle stuff that doesn't go to the TE's and screen stuff that we couldn't play worth a damn last year.

Jefferson caught 109 passes from the slot last year. He had 111 catches total So I have no idea where you are coming up with him playing "all over” for lsu. He was a slot receiver in college. He will be forced to play on the outside in minny now so we will see how that plays out.

He is not 4 inches taller than reagor and he played with the best qb in college football. Easier to put up stats when 70% of the passes thrown your way are accurate/catchable. Reagor played with a true freshman who borderline stunk.

Not saying reagor will be better than Jefferson or Jefferson will be a bust but if you are going to a knock a guy, at least get the facts straight.

Yes, and he has Desean Jackson to mentor him. That's going to help him out a lot.

Actually put on this guys film, even with an absolutely awful team around him you can see he’s special. He sticks out without even knowing who you’re looking for.

You can knock his effort for sure, but the team being absolute butt cheeks around him seemed to get to him, so he went into self preservation mode. Can you blame a young man looking towards the NFL? 33% of his targets were deemed uncatchable last year..

Wentz and Pederson are going to make a Star out of him. Screens, bombs, reverses. I can’t wait to see it!

I don't understand all the Raegor hate and people losing their minds. All we said last year was we need speed and especially at outside receiver. We got exactly that and one of the best options at 21 who can actually fit the offense. Now people want the slower slot receiver. As for the Lamb thing, yes of course I wanted him but teams weren't trading. Teams were taking players they wanted! There were no trades other than the TB one position nonsense. You can't force teams to trade down.
