Reagor will be judged against not only Jefferson for the foreseeable future, but also CeeDee Lamb, who dropped to No. 17 before being scooped up by the Eagles' division rival, the Dallas Cowboys. The price to move in front of Dallas to No. 16 was going to be at least a 2020 second-round pick, a source said. Given that the Eagles had committed to having a high-volume draft, and had already had their stockpile go from 10 to eight picks as a result of the Darius Slay trade, the asking price to move up was too rich.

It would be interesting if it was put out what the Falcons wanted to move up 5 spots. We don't make many deals with the Falcons so the chemistry is not there so Im sure they tried to get that little extra and Howie just wouldnt budge. In the end sometimes you have to set your limit and stick with it.

Too high IMH.  I mean considering the holes we have at other positions.  I mean the option was Lamb or Reagor and hopefully potential starter on defense.  I would take the latter no questions asked

being a grad of WVU I have seen this kid the past two years, and last year TCU was simply terrible but when they had a QB this kid was good.  Hopefully they are able to groom him into the prospect that he is.

D. Gunn and B. Brooks break down why the Eagles selected Reagor over Jefferson.

Good analysis in the video although I don't think the guy is quite ready to be our #1 outside WR.

Screens, jet sweeps, gadget plays for now. Sort of a Sproles-type player with return ability.

Teams knew we needed a WR and were extorting us for picks.  The price to trade with Dallas was most likely double what Atlanta wanted.

He’s the best deep threat in the draft. What you wrote here is ridiculous.

Ridiculous? 99.9 % of NFL GM's would have taken JJ, but not Howie. Howie took a #2 draft pick as a #1 pick. THAT is ridiculous, not what I am saying. I like the player, but he was on NOBODY's list as a #1 pick- well, except for Howie. How gave up a #1 pick for a #2 pick. Who does that? Right- only Howie.

Agreed. He won't be the starter right off the bat. Contributor on special teams, maybe spell DJ for a series or two. He can run some double move routes and deep routes as well to open things up for Ertz and Goedert and Sanders.

Here's the thing...

If you watch Carson Wentz and the Eagles at all, you know that Carson Wentz and the Eagles are at their best when Carson can push the ball down the field.

Last season and so far this off-season, many people have complained that the team is wasting Wentz's prime and they don't care about him.

Reagor is a speed demon and a deep threat at all times. He fits the mold of pushing the ball down field.

They drafted an athletic freak that fits the playstyle that CARSON WENTZ enjoys and plays his best with.

So naturally, people hate the pick and complain about it.

Get your heads out of the sand.

Reagor has been on many mock drafts in the first round. I have seen mocks that had the Eagles taking Reagor, so it's not a surprise. Especially since Howie told us all he wanted to get younger and faster. To say he isn't a first rounder is not accurate. In fact, he was drafted in the first round.

Think it would require a trade up, cause at 53 I don't see him there.  What would you be willing to give up to move up say 10 or more spots?

I do think he may be there. Just not sure if we will actually take a WR 1,2

Many of the final mocks had him somewhere between 21 and 28. Glad we got him.

You cannot reason  with the "should have moved up..fire Howie now crowd". They don't understand the reality that the only ones wanting to trade with us wanted our second plus more.

For example, I'd rather have Reagor, Logan Wilson and Devernay over Ceedee Lamb only

99.9% of statistics are just made up by 84% of people that produce incorrect figures 72% of the time.... or something like that :smoke:

Yeah, in fact in the annual EMB Mock Draft that DownunderMike created Ray75 drafted for the Eagles and his first pick in the first round was Reagor. So, there's that as well.

Ok I did some looking into Reagor and he is a physical phreak. 620lbs squat, just under a 400lbs bench, 380lbs clean, 42' inch vert. 4.2 40.(forget the combine 4.47) 2 diff times he has been clocked at 4.22/4.28 proday video) and he ran a 4.29 at school.

17 reps of 225 at the combine finished tied 7th among all WRs at this year.

This is something that stood out to me from the combine strengths:

  • Versatility to create chunk plays from all levels
  • Works all three levels, including gadget plays
  • Sells vertical push to set up route breaks
  • Loose hips to sink quickly to snap off breaks
  • Shows ability to lose coverage at the top of the route
  • Gets to top speed very quickly and opens separation deep
  • Able to leap up the ladder and snag it at the high-point..

Now think about the 1st game Wentz had with a healthy Desean Jackson.

Even if Jackson goes down.. we now have another deep threat with the ability to open things up underneath for Ertz/Goedert/Greg Ward/JJAW/Miles Sanders..

And imagine Jackson on 1 side and Reagor on the other.

No idea but Carson will welcome him with open arms. I’m dumbfounded. So many more needs.
